Cycle Cycle Where are Thou....

I have put on a LOT of weight and when I say A LOT I really mean it.

I have been wanting to lose it forever but have not really done anything concrete in that direction. Problem with me is I get bored very easily and therefore need an exercise which can keep involved. Gym for me is a monotonous activity; Walking is something that I hate. You know there are people who love walking; its like they can walk any much as they want and I am one of those people NOT. Walking doesn't come naturally to me; as in I don't get excited with the idea of walking. One form of exercise that I love from the bottom of my heart is Aerobics/ dance but unfortunately don't have an option to do either of it. There is a class for former in my office (I was very regular in it before I had Arnav) but unfortunately the timings do not suit me now. As far as Dance is concerned I am still looking out for a class nearby and have been unsuccessful in finding one. Sigh! I even tried UrbanClap but the fees for individual lessons is so high that it is really not worth it.

As soon as I shared my thoughts with husband; he was dancing with joy NOT. To say he was skeptical would be an understatement. He strongly feels that I go through phases as in I get excited about things; buys gadgets and then the whole thing fizzles out after a point. Also he wanted me to try practicing on his cycle before putting money; but well his cycle was little high for me and I just could not ride it. It took a lot to convince him but ultimately I managed to.

Once that battle was won we went on to tackle the most important part; where to buy from and which one to buy. I was clear that I wanted to buy a second hand one; so I circulated a message on my various WhatsApp groups and husband started looking in OLX.

Our efforts paid and we managed to find a decent cycle in OLX and only in 800/- rupees. Though it needed a little work but what mattered was it was in a working condition.

In My Favorite color
And then began the night rides; I had so much fun riding a cycle that I can not explain in words. Husband was amazed because he had never seen me riding cycle and he had never expected me to enjoy riding it the way I did. Like he said I get irritated with walking a little extra but as far as cycling is concerned I always feel we could have ridden a little more.

We were very regular for a month but post Arnav's school holidays & navratra's we have been not very regular but I plan to correct it tomorrow onward because there is fun & joy in riding a cycle; there is some old world charm in it and well it is a bloody good exercise.

So what is your favorite exercise?
