BOOK DESCRIPTION

Follow Marla the housefly in this story and share her interesting experiences. Hopefully, she dodges the swat, swerves past the spider’s web and speeds past that pesky lizard. This story may just change your view of the common housefly.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

A Husband for over 11 years, father of two beautiful children, a physician by profession over 14 years, and a lover of the arts.

MY THOUGHTS

𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘢, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘭𝘺 is a cute and educational picture book featuring a day in the life of a fly called Marla. The authors tell the story from Marla's point of view--the dangers of being swatted and the hard-earned enjoyment of food.

I've never thought about how a fly might feel, but this book teaches little ones that no matter how pesty or annoying someone may be, try to think about what he or she might be going through before you swat them away.

What I liked about the book:

- Beautiful illustrations
- Emphasis on key words
- Delightfully squeamish storyline (perfect for the curiosity of little ones who have no sense of fear or squeamishness)
- Humorous (see excerpted picture. I found that scene hilarious!)
- Educational while entertaining

I will say that I am pretty squeamish so the description of Marla's meal...whoa. However, having worked with 3–5-year-olds...they love that kind of stuff.

I received a free copy of the book from Book Sirens and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
