I am officially 1 week into college and it’s not so bad so far. Next week is when we get our first big assignment but so far I’m feeling pretty comfortable. The college I am going to is entirely online and we only take one class at a time that lasts 5 weeks so I am really loving that pace. I can devote all of my time to the one class that I am taking instead of trying to divide my attention between multiple classes. I’m currently working on my gen eds and won’t work in my major until January but I am really excited to keep going.
I read Taken by the Alien Next Door and it took most of the week for me to get through it. The beginning was rather slow for me until they actually had the big kidnapping scene. I did like both of the main character and their relationship was cute. I do think the main female character gave in on a lot of things really quickly without really having a reaction but the scene I’m thinking of would be a spoiler. The alien plot/tech part was not a huge focus in this story and honestly, I kinda wanted more. I wanted to learn more about the planet and their tech but that could just be a me thing.
I also read the first novella in The Creature Cafe Series, Little Slice of Hell and I liked it. I’m currently trying to decide if I want to binge the whole series sense all the books are short or if I want to sprinkle them in between longer books to kinda serve as a palette cleanser. Overall, I am really excited to read more by Clio especially longer books. I know she has multiple series out now so I might dive into one of those once O complete this series.
I had no idea that this had come out so when it showed up on my KU feed I knew I wanted to start this one right away. I’m actually just starting this one but it is the 3rd and the last book in this series so I really want to finish it up while I am still excited to read it. I really like this author’s writing and enjoy the works she writes. I have another of her series I need to finish as well so I hope to get this one done so I can tackle the others.
Ugh, I hate picking what I am going to be reading next but I’m thinking I will start this series. The first book is least than 100 pages and I just remembered that I got the first book for free during the last stuff your kindle event. I know this book series is available on audio on Scribd so if I like the first book and want to continue I can pick up the others to listen to while I work.
