This isn’t a radical way of thinking… .

I’m sitting here, trying to write something meaningful, and from the heart. Could it possibly change how people feel. To allow people to pause for a minute and really think? I want to so much stop this pain that people are going through. To unite people, and erase a divide. To create a new foundation… that is a pretty tall order, right? These are just words on a page to some but… action without works is dead. We ALL have to acknowledge its broke, understand what is broken, to be able to repair WHAT’S broken.
I am a white, middle aged technology nerd with an unhealthy addiction to cheese. I have two jobs and work my ass off. I TRY to wake up almost every morning with optimism, and hope that today is a new day and good things are on the horizon… but for everyone. Not just myself. … It’s hard sometimes because I think… Look how far we have come… at the same time how little has been accomplished with us as a nation.
When Obama got in office I honestly thought… WOW, we are so much closer to understanding each other now. That we are able to actually come together, differences aside, and perpetually make change. We are bridging this gap of community and communication. We are seeing what works… I know some of you are reading this… (if you took the time up to this part at least, thanks) and Thinking, OH, yet another political rant… this doesn’t have ANYTHING to do with politics or democrat versus republican, or this left right bullshit… This is a people problem. We are the problem. US.
To entertain an idea or even a possibility of an idea that throughout the course of any time in the day that lays before you, that your perception of something could be completely Incorrect. That your perception of people could be incorrect. Those who are not open to dialog, those that won’t even acknowledge even a marginal degree that how they think or act could be incorrect, and that their actions could have a drastic life of their own. That they are wrong.
A lot of us would feel scrutinized, that we were being singled out. That our feelings weren’t validated. That we didn’t have a voice. PEOPLE are our biggest commodity, their dreams and positivity drive this nation.
I get it. Nobody want to feel as thought they are wrong… Especially about something that they are passionate about. But please… let a voice other than your own come into play here. Really listen to people. We all ultimately want the same thing.
