Top 10 Books of 2017!!!!

Tags: book

2017 is gone and another reading challenge complete and I read some really good books.
These are my top 10 books of the year. It was fairly hard to narrow them down but I think I'm happy with the choices I made.
These are in no order so no reference to which were greater than others.
These are based on when I read them, not what year they were published.

A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness

This was actually the first book I read in the year and it was so beautiful and heartbreaking. The tears just wouldn't stop coming!
I have also watched the film adaption which I believed to stick quite true to the book.

Cinder by Marissa Meyer

After many people telling me that I desperately need to read this series I finally started it and they were sooo right. This Book was so good and I am currently working my wasy through the second. It is funny and clever and a really well done retelling of Cinderella.

Countless by Karen Gregory

This wasn't necessarily amazingly written or a really exciting storyline but I loved it for its complete honesty.
It didn't romanticise anything and showed the truth which can be really tough to write about and share with others.
So for that, I have a lot of respect for this book.

It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover

This book punched me in the stomach and just left me to suffer...
...well that was graphic....
Honestly though this book is going to stay with me for a very long time.

Am I Normal Yet? by Holly Bourne

Nope, definitely not normal....
This was another very honest book and it was written very well. I remember reading this and just flying out of a reading slump.

Not Without My Daughter by Betty Mahmoody

This book is completely different to any book I would usually read but my Grandma told me it was really good so I read it. It is such a heart-wrenching book, especially as they are all completely true events.
I did not want to put this book down as I just needed to know what was going to happen next to these people I grew to care for so much. It really opened my eyes to some harsh realities and made me appreciate things much more.

November 9 by Colleen Hoover

Yet another book by Hoover, must be her year to shine.
This was yet another tear-bringer, maybe that's what it takes this year to make a good book. I am so heartless that it must be an amazing book to make me cry.... I am seriously questioning myself now.

Secrets For The Mad by Dodie Clark

I am still surprised that this is on the list. It's a YouTuber book! But it was so beautifully written and worth wayyy more than a 6/10....hehe

Undone by Cat Clarke

I listened to the audiobook of this while doing some of my Graphics work. All I can say is that I got way less work done than I should have as I kept stopping and just listening to the beauty of this story unfold. I was totally worth it! (Not sure my lecturer would say the same...)

The Young Elites by Marie Lu

This book surprised me. Obviously I didn't expect to hate it or I wouldn't have read it... I just didn't expect to like it so much.
I still can't really work out why but something about it made me really enjoy it.

These are my top 10 books I read in 2017. Hopefully I will read even more amazing books this year.
What were your favourites?
