As Good As Dead (A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder #3)

Pip Fitz-Amobi is haunted by the way her last investigation ended. Soon she’ll be leaving for Cambridge University but then another case finds her . . . and this time it’s all about Pip.

Pip is used to online death threats, but there’s one that catches her eye, someone who keeps asking: who will look for you when you’re the one who disappears? And it’s not just online. Pip has a stalker who knows where she lives. The police refuse to act and then Pip finds connections between her stalker and a local serial killer. The killer has been in prison for six years, but Pip suspects that the wrong man is behind bars. As the deadly game plays out, Pip realises that everything in Little Kilton is finally coming full circle. If Pip doesn’t find the answers, this time she will be the one who disappears . . .

MY THOUGHTS

It was one of my most anticipated books of the year. I really loved A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder and Good Girl, Bad Blood. I didn’t know what I am getting myself into. It is everything I wasn’t expecting. It’s been a year since I read the second Book. so obviously I had memory glitches but thankfully book started on a kind of slow side. Focusing on aftereffects of the ending of the last book. Many may find it dragged and slow but it really helped me to recall everything. I love the way author deal with Pip’s PTSD. Because certain things just don’t vanish, after getting a good partner, they remain with people throughout their life.

Pip got a stalker but a girl suffering from PTSD is not reliable to police. Hawkins is again that guy who tries to rely on someone to do his duty. This book kept highlighting the loopholes of the law. I can’t talk much about the story as there were so many things and I am afraid I might spoil something for someone.

I just want to ask why Pip and Ravi are so underrated? Why I don’t find people shipping them? Why girls don’t write paragraphs after paragraphs on how ideal is Ravi. Why people don’t ship them? Their chemistry has to be one of the best.

This book has to be one of the smartest books I’ve read. I didn’t even know there were loose ends in previous books but when the author started to connect them. I was just sitting there looking stupid with my dropped jaw.

Despite knowing many things I was sitting on the edge the whole time. I felt my heartbeat getting fast which is so uncommon, I even gasped out loud several times which is totally not my style. You know when you are reading something so exciting and you can’t decide your sitting position, that was me in the second half.

Holly Jackson, you are BRILLIANT and AS GOOD AS DEAD has to be my FAVOURITE book of 2021
