For Your Own Good-Book Review

Teddy Crutcher has won Teacher of the Year at the esteemed Belmont Academy, home to the best and brightest.

He says his wife couldn’t be more proud—though no one has seen her in a while.

Teddy really can’t be bothered with the death of a School parent that’s looking more and more like murder or the student digging a little too deep into Teddy’s personal life. His main focus is on pushing these kids to their full academic potential.

All he wants is for his colleagues—and the endlessly meddlesome parents—to stay out of his way.

It’s really too bad that sometimes excellence can come at such a high cost.

MY THOUGHTS

Belmont Academy is an elite prestigious school and is so proud of its identity. Most of the students are bright and ambitious. But a school needs more than smart students, a school needs dedicated teachers. Teddy Crutcher is one of the most dedicated teachers and can go to any length to teach his students what he thinks is right. Belmont Academy took 10 years to award Teddy the best teacher of the year. Finally, after ten years school is finding the right direction, it just needs a bit of guidance (or poisonings, if needed) then the school will be in the right direction.

Everyone can’t be perfect, can they?. Zach Ward is one of the beloved students of the school. But According to Teddy, he is rich and arrogant and in need of guidance. He will teach him a lesson and if anyone even any of his colleagues will dare to interfere he’ll handle it. Needless to say, Teddy Crutcher is one of the evilest, heartless and malign characters, I have read in a while. He is so self-righteous and without a sense of right and wrong. He doesn’t have limits or cares for anything.

I like the whole world-building. I love the way story was woven around teachers and students. The writing was crisp and clear, nothing was dragged. The mystery kept me guessing, even though right from the start readers knew who is the murderer. So many murders in a story can be boring but it wasn’t the case here. I was so invested in all the characters and wanted to see them reap what they sowed. This book just missed the mark for being a 5-star read. I was expecting so much from the ending but it ended abruptly. I wanted to know more. Anyways I really enjoyed it.

It was my second book of Samantha Downing and I must say she is GOOD…
