eyes are like the monsoons

My eyes are like the monsoons
Yet still my mind remains thirsty
Oh crazy heart, what does it know of this game?
From where does this pain-filled song
come to these lips? Take me far away
What have I forgotten? Even though I forget
I remember a little, yet still my mind is thirsty
This is an old conversation, this is a story
Now I think you do not remember
Now I think you could not forget those swing sets of the rainy season
I saw the seasons come and go
This lie is a consolation, yet still my mind is thirsty
Ages have passed since we met and were separated
We were like lightening that sparkled in the sky
But that line of time has passed since I saw you
Playing hide and seek with my mind
(were) hope and despair, yet still my mind is thirsty
My eyes are like the monsoons
-Anand Bakshi
