REVIEW

A very timely and relatable book giving a gift of love and hope.

Author Michal Shraga is a successful therapist who has helped many individuals and families overcome difficulties in their relationships. Her daughter (and co-author), Ayelet Shraga, is a 24-year-old psychology student.

When Ayelet was born, little did Michal know what awaited her in raising her daughter. As the teenage years rolled by, Ayelet was going to put her through sheer Hell. But rather than quitting and allowing the relationship to become unsalvageable, Michal ‘transformed herself as a mother and saved her daughter and herself from total disaster.’

This book is written for all who strive to connect to unconditional love, and who wish to help a loved one that has given up. It’s specifically geared for parents ‘who want to survive their children’s adolescent years and come out stronger, wiser, and with loving relationships.’

The book description provides powerful messages: ‘This book takes you on a courageous journey into the souls of a mother and a daughter. I Can See You Now: A Unique Relationship of Love and Hope is an excellent book in helping parents raise their children and understanding their motivations. The book talked to me, not above me, and it allowed me to explore my own feelings as a parent. It’s a book that should be a on the “to read” list of all progressive parents who value a quality relationship with their children.

Raising kids is one of the toughest and most fulfilling jobs in the world — and the one for which you might feel the least prepared. We all want to have good parenting skills. We want to help our children make the most of their potential, and we want them to be contributing members of society. However, it’s time-consuming trying to sift through all the parenting tips out there. What makes it even more confusing is that the tips from different “parenting experts” are often contradictory!

Author’s Michal and Ayelet Shraga share their personal experiences in an open, honest and candid way. I couldn’t recommend this book highly enough. A well-deserved five stars.
