This is a continuation of some past books.  It leaves you hanging. Personally, I would wait for the sequel so I could read it all at once.   Constance leaves Pendergast for her own reasons.   Pendergast is distraught and avails himself of his favorite NYC detective to help him with Constance.   As a sidebar, there is a case of missing native American artifacts from the museum.

I enjoyed the story.  The plot is complex and needs several books to play out.
