If you stay in Faridabad (even in and around it like Delhi,Gurgaon,Noida etc) and you have not been to Books en Beyond Faridabad, you are seriously missing out on a great experience. Infact it should be in your list of things to do in Faridabad. Books en Beyond is a social club based in Faridabad where you can read your  book, meet dignitaries, devout to your hobby, spend some quality time with like minded people and what not. It is basically a Book and activity club where the founder Shweta Aggarwal keeps on organizing various interactive sessions and literary activities like book reading sessions, book launches, book discussion, author meet and greet, book signing events and what not. The readers get to meet their favourite author and authors of various book genre get to interact with the genuine book readers followed by a brainstorming session,a healthy discussion, sharing of ideas and many things more.

I was recently invited by Books en Beyond for an amazing book discussion session for my newly released book Love Story of a Commando which is published by Westland publishers. I was also accompanied by Mr Vikas Manhas who is famously called as ‘Soldiers’s storyteller’. For the audiences there it was a great experience to listen to him as well. The huge books en beyond steel logo was proudly basking in its glory on the huge three storey building. When we reached there, the readers had already taken their seats in the spacious and vibrant Books en Beyond lounge. It was a happy atmosphere. There were bright coloured cushions,Buddha statues, abstract paintings, mirrors, bonsai, couches and bean bags. Also, there were bookshelves ladened with books. There was The Fix by david baldacci The Whistler by john grisham and Danille Steel’s  The Mistress alongside popular Indian fiction like Chetan Bhagat Five point someone, Durjoy Dutta books to yours truly Westland published  ‘Love Stroy of a Commando and what not. The bookshleves were treasure trove to any book lover containing endless stories. And yes there was coffee and plenty of cookies. With great difficulty I could control the urge of picking up any of the books and plop down coyly on one of the colourful beanbags. I was greeted by Books en Beyond founder Shweta and a Rotary Club member Mohit,a prominent businessman and one great orator. It is amazing how 90s kid have turned out to be a smart breed of human beings who work in a multidimensional way. I mean a woman can be both a wonderful mother and also a great entrepreneur and a man can be a doting husband and a great artist all the while leading business meetings with excellence. I don’t think our previous generations, the generation X and the next one the millennial had ever mastered this art. I had a phonic conversation with Mohit earlier where he needed a few information prior hand regarding my book and honestly I was scared. I was expecting barrage of difficult questions but surprisingly it turned out to be an interactive session with full of multi-facet conversation where the amalgamation of romance and patriotism blossomed at its best. Mohit asked how do I research when I write especially when a subject is as difficult as portraying the life of a soldier? I told him as I tell you “I live among Soldiers and it has been ten amazing years in the army. It is the place where I live, breathe and lead my life full of uncertainties. I go beyond researching, I live and breathe my subjects of amusement. The interactive book discussion ended with book signings on the freshly bought books by the readers from the make shift bookstall and trust me not a single copy was left. And then came the most exciting part of the book session where the lovely people of Faridabad enthusiastically clicked picture with the author they were going to read soon. After hundreds of handshakes and hugs we parted our way with promises to come back soon (though I need to write my third book for that first) we departed with hearts full of memories and books en beyond souvenirs which were a lovely pen and a key chain with engraved books en beyond logo hinting a lingering affection and association with Book en Beyond for ever.

I end this blog on a note as they say in Books en Beyond here is the link to their facebook page where you can also contact bBOOKS EN BEYOND

“Books en Beyond leaves the typical library and activities experience in the dust. Having fun, burning off steam, expanding your network—however you decide to fill your time at our centre, you’ll forge fast friendships and make lasting memories as part of our high-energy, yet laid-back Books en Beyond community. Books, fiction or non-fiction, contain endless stories that can both broaden your understanding of the world or help you get through a sticking point in your life. Those who read have been known to have more finely-tuned brains than those who prefer more passive activities, so if you are hoping to improve their mind both psychologically and cognitively, you might want to think about taking up the habit of regular reading.”

Thank you Shweta Aggarwal for illuminating other people’s lives with just not happiness and bliss but also knowledge and exposure and bringing together people at one platform from all walks of lives and making it a success.
