Welcome to Day 14 of Blogmas!
One of my favourite things to bake at Christmas is Gingerbread. I’ve been baking gingerbread since I was a child and I’ve always used the same Recipe, I don’t know where the recipe came from or who I was given it by, but I thought I would share it with you just in case you were looking for one!
DISCLAIMER: I am OBSESSED with Ginger and I always put stupid amounts of it into my recipes so if you don’t like as much as I do you can easily swap the amount for how much you’re comfortable with! For this recipe you will need:
400g Plain Flour (plus extra for rolling)
1tsp Bicarbonate of Soda
4tbsp Ground Ginger
1tbsp Cinnamon
150g Butter
200g Light Brown Sugar
4tbsp Golden Syrup
Method:
- Preheat oven to 180°c (Gas Mark 4) and line baking trays with greaseproof paper.

jdkdjadjakdjakdjkadakdjkdakjdkajdkjakjdkajdkadkajkjdakjdkajdkadkajdkjadkjakdj - Sieve flour, bicarbonate of soda, ginger, and cinnamon into a bowl, then stir the melted ingredients into the dry ingredients to make a stiff dough.
jdkdjadjakdjakdjkadakdjkdakjdkajdkjakjdkajdkadkajkjdakjdkajdkadkajdkjadkjakdj - Place the dough onto a floured surface and roll to a thickness of around 5mm. Dip cookie cutters into flour before cutting, then place cut out shapes onto the baking trays.
