The Republican vice presidential candidate, James Donald Vance, described the survival of the assassination attempt on the party’s candidate, Donald Trump, as miraculous.
On July 13 in Butler, Pennsylvania, 20-year-old Mathews Crooks attempted to assassinate Trump during a campaign rally.

Crooks was swiftly neutralized by the secret service. Trump, Vance, and their campaign team returned to Butler last night.
Speaking at the campaign rally, Vance said: “What happened here in Butler, PA on July 13th was nothing short of a miracle. On that day, America felt the truth of scripture:
“Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me.
