The nightlife PR manager said, “I heard a number of people took offence about what happened, and I’m sincerely sorry. It didn’t come from the place of anything, it was just a spur of the moment.”
Complaints had been mounting from housemates, especially the Ndi Nne pair, consisting of aunty and niece Nne and Chinne, about Damilola’s harsh tone. Toyosi had overheard housemates expressing their frustrations, describing Damilola’s tone as rude and authoritative.
Following Toyosi’s advice, Damilola asked the heads of house, the Mbadiwe twins, to gather everyone in the lounge so she could apologise.
The apology almost led to a public argument when Toyosi, in an attempt to explain, mentioned that everyone should try to get used to Damilola’s way of speaking. Damilola added that if any housemates had issues with her, they should approach her directly rather than talking behind her back.
