“But don’t they say that all is fair in love and war? I heard that somewhere.” “‘They?’ Who are ‘they?'” “I don’t know. Just people.” “That’s what the victorious claim, not the defeated; the powerful, not the powerless. ‘All is fair.’ ‘The end justifies the means.’ Is that what you believe?”
The answer to the above question will definitely prove the fact that the title of the anthology is perfect.
REVIEW OF THE BOOK:
The genre of the book is very unique and special. We do have romantic and thrilling anthologies getting published very often, but how many time you have seen an anthology with two contrasting traits?-LOVE and WAR. Perhaps this entire concept makes the book very unique.
“Heloise long ago reconciled herself to the idea that all is fair in love and war, which is just another way of saying that nothing in life is ever fair, because life is love and war.”
23 different writers across the globe penned down 27 very creative thought to bring out the emotion called LOVE amidst of the atmosphere of WAR.
The contrast between love and war is perfectly portrayed in this anthology. For instance, in Ankita Singh’s ‘THEY TOOK AWAY”; we see how the author projects War on love.
“They killed her, my mom”
“They killed her, my sister”
“I was just another victim of this war,
Which was called terrorism by all”
WHY YOU SHOULD READ THIS BOOK-
Lovely contrast of the Theme
A true and a very appropriate genre selection with regards to the current worldwide scenario.
Drawbacks (believe me, the negative points are negligible if you compare to the positive aspects)
The blurb could have been made more interesting and a bit elaborative.
The cover and illustration are very common. Maybe it could have been made more unique and attractive.
A great piece of anthology weaved with emotions throughout.
You would feel how War affects our love for each other.
Overall I would like to rate the book 45 on a scale of 50.
