Hands-On Alienware Alpha R2

If you are looking for a personal Gaming, computing system, but don’t wish to spend hundreds of dollars on some gigantic piece, then don’t worry, as Alienware has come up with the latest launch of the Alpha R2 as a compact gaming solution and at a much lesser cost. It is currently running on Windows 10 and measures just about 7.87″ square, 2.17″ high and weighs around just 4.4 pounds. It is small in size as compared to the regular gaming system that one can carry it along with them at any given place. One can enjoy this system either with the latest 4GB NVIDIA GeFOrce GTX960 or even with 2GB AMD Radeon R9 M470X graphic processor. It is highly combined with modern Intel Core CPUs, and we were surprised to see that the Alpha can play many games be it modern at high resolution of 1080 at 60fps.

It runs very fast with 6th generation, quad-core Intel Core i7 6700T. It is really fast if we go by its size. But, it is famously quoted that don’t judge a book by its cover therefore, don’t judge Alpha R2 by its size. It is tested with a variety of games and graphics on the system; it ran very smoothly with heavy games too.

Well, somewhere it was a bit shaky type, for example the alpha was 15% slower than 2015 core i7 retina iMac on various games. Well, if we talk overall then everyone is highly impressed with this small Alpha R2 as it doesn’t create any problem when we are playing graphically intensive PC games. It can be regarded as a powerful system running windows 10 desktop version. If we are talking about price then it costs around $599 and fully loaded system costs around $949 inclusive of up gradation of the compact system.
