In 1347 CE, an independent Muslim state Bahamni Sultanate was established in South India by Alaud-Din Bahman Shah in a revolt against Delhi Sultanate. The Qutub Shahi dynasty held sway over Andhra country for about two hundred years from early part of the sixteenth century to the end of the seventeenth century. In early 19th century Nothern Circars was ceded and it became part of British East India Company held Madras Presidency.

Eventually this region emerged as the Coastal Andhra region, later the Nizam rulers of Hyderabad ceded five territories (Datta Mandalalu) to the British which eventually emerged as Rayalaseema region. The Nizams retained control of the interior provinces as the princely state of Hyderabad, acknowledging British rule in return for local autonomy. Meanwhile, the French occupied Yanam, in the Godavari delta, and would hold it until 1954. In 1947 Vizianagaram was the largest Hindu Princely state in Andhra Pradesh.

In an effort to gain an independent state based on linguistic differen es and to protect the interests of Telugu-speaking people of Madras state, Potti Sriramulu fasted until death in 1952 As Madras became bone of contention, in 1949 a JVP committee report stated, Andhra Province could be formed provided the Andhras give up their claim on the city of Madras (now Chennai)." After Potti Sreeramulu's death, the Telugu-people, the Telugu-speaking areas, i.e. Andhra State, was carved out of Madras State on 1st October 1953, with Kurnool as its Capital city On the basis of a Gentlemen's agreement of 1st November 1956, the States Reorganisation Act formed Andhra Pradesh by merging Andhra State with Telugu speaking areas of the already existing Hyderabad State. Hyderabad was made the captial of the new state.

After the formation ofAndhra Pradesh state capital Hyderabad shown rapid growth and expanded accordingly Due to the industrial development, employment opportunities were improved. With in short span of time Hyderabad grown as an international city The main reason for this is the people from all over the state reached Hyderabad Lakhs of people belongs to North Andhra, Middle Andhra, Nellore, Rayalaseema reached Hyderabad to get employment. Large number of industrialists came and established various industires. the capitalists and common people for all regions of Andhra Pradesh came and settled in Hyderabad Modern industries were established. In between 1956-70 Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL), National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC), Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Eclectonic Corporation of India (ECIL), Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Andhra Bank (AB), State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH) were established.

Due to the advent of these organisations, Hyderabad transformed from its traditional economy to Cosmopolitan Industrial Series Centre. For all these organisation new buildings were constructed.
Large number of people got employment. Various supplementary business establishments were also established. Due to all these reasons city expanded rapidly During 1970s Hyderabad developed as Pharmaceutical centre. So capital city became Biotechnological hub. Ultimately it got the name of the Geenom valley of India. Pharmaceutical sector development encouraged the various local institutions to establish their warehouses, offices, research centres, development centres in Hyderabad.
Since 1990 IT software era began in Hyderabad. Indian Software Park (STP) Hyderabad branch was established in 1991-92.

After Chandrababu Naidu became Chief Minister he strived hard to transform Hyderabad as centre for IT industry in the world . For this purpose state government built Hi-tech city at Madapur in 158 acers. It was estimated that total 14 lakh square feet place required for high level IT activities.
So arround Hi-tech city 52 square kilometers area was allocated and named it as Cyberabad. This is also known as Cyber city Hi-tech city was completed in two stages. Just like Secunderabad and Hyderabad. Cyberabad made as seperate administrative bloc. For its development purpose, a seperate orgniasation Cyberabad Development Authority was formed. Indian School of Business was established to develop IT knowledge. HIT, Hyderabad University, Sports Complex comes within the perview of Cyberabad. Like this Hyderabad became the world city. In 2014, United Andhra Pradesh was divided into Andhra and Telangana. Hyderabad declared as capital city for Telangana But it will remain as common capital for Navy andhra and Telangana for ten years period. So People of Andhra lost their existing capital and forced to build another new capital city. For the formation of the new city, Central Government
