I got a piercing...

Tags: piercing

Hi readers, I finally got my eyebrow pierced today! I've been wanting it for a few months now and finally I plucked up the courage to go through with it. Actually, I nearly turned around and went home (after many strolls up and down the street) but I'm so happy I went through with it. The pain was tolerable and on a scale of 1-10 I would say a 4/5. It's a bit swollen now, and I've already cleaned it with warm, salty water- which made it sting a bit more. The only thing I am worried about is; I was pierced with a straight barbell which I've heard can make rejection more likely. Hopefully, I can get it re-pierced if it does end up rejecting. Overall, the procedure only took less than 10 minutes!

Piercing Aftercare*;
I was told to dissolve 2 teaspoons of sea salt in a cup of hot water and to use this mixture to clean my piercing. I used a latex glove and used a cotton wool ball to dab my eyebrow. I was advised to carry this out twice a day for at least 6 weeks.

-Do not play with the piercing
-Do not change the jewelry for at least 6 weeks
-Do not tug the piercing/avoid catching it on anything
-Avoid getting shampoo in the piercing- if this occurs, bathe the piercing with clean water to avoid irritation

*The piercing should take between 3-12 months to heal
