~DIY; "Gradient" nails~

Tags: nail sponge

Hi again readers, today I decided to experiment with another idea I saw on Pinterest. The pin showed how top use a makeup wedge Sponge to create a stripey/gradient look with Nail varnish. You simply paint your chosen nail polish colours on the sponge; easy! There were plenty of other ideas, on Pinterest, with different colours, but I wanted to do rainbow nails; I thought they would be perfect for Pride this month. Be warned; I am not a professional at nails, and I barely paint them, so chances are this won't turn out successful for me.

(Not my photo)

I tried to create a rainbow nail
without the sponge; also a fail
At least the sponge looked
prettier than my nail

As expected, I did not achieve what I was hoping for. Every time I put the nail varnish on the sponge, it would dry VERY quickly. Eventually, I did manage to get some colour transferred to my nails but it was very pale and the yellow didn't show up at all. In future, I think I will just buy nail stickers or false nails if I want rainbow nails. Maybe with lots more practice, this could work but I don't think I will be doing it again. Don't let me stop you from having a go, if you do try it, feel free to share your results in the comments section, below.

Thanks for reading xo
