A Stare Off In Marks n Sparks

Is it just me or does every shopping trip turn into a bloody massive ordeal. It’s easy really, pick your goods, head to the till and pay the good person behind the counter with your hard earned Cash. Bollocks it’s never that easy. Reality is far different from the ‘are you being served’ image we are fed in the adverts. Now I know being a shop assistant is not easy, I was one for many years, dealing with those customers that are always right, but would it really be too much of an ask for a little smile. Also Mr Shopkeeper do you really need to complicate the price of everything. Just tell me how much it is, I don’t want to know that if I buy six items then do a hula dance in the aisles I may qualify for half a pack free. Right where the hell am I going with this. Focus. Oh yes vouchers, you know coupons that are handed out to us the uneducated public. Have some money off they say, get a free sample they say, well that is until you try to redeem them!!

A long staring match takes place, Mrs Supervisor is not going to budge so I tell her I don’t want the meat, a little part of me has just died with embarrassment, she turns to take my bags which I had already packed, hold your horses lady!!! You are not having my Morrisons bags for life, I paid 10p each for them. So there we are, me with my voucher and empty bags for life and Mrs Supervisor, I won’t budge because I am far more important than you woman, standing with her nearly out of date meat. Well I hope someone did come and buy it in the last hour of the trading day that was left, it would be such a waste to throw it just because you were too stubborn to override a coupon…..Love as always Helen xxx
