I often see questions in Facebook groups or in online forums on how to install a Popup on a WordPress site using Mailchimp. While this may seem overwhelming at first, it’s actually a very simple and quick process.
I’ve recently received some feedback from some of you that the newsletter subscribe popup form on my website was not closing, which prevented you from gaining access to the rest of my blog. I felt pretty frustrated because I followed MailChimp’s instructions to get it working and 9 times out of 10 it wouldn’t work right.
I recently discovered a WordPress plugin called PopupAlly which will take your MailChimp form code and run a popup on your site. After installing it on my site and testing it in all browsers, I am now confident to say the freezing popup form issue is no longer present!
So, if you are wondering how to install a popup for your Mailchimp form on your own WordPress site, you’re in luck! Here are the easy steps to follow to get your popups up and running in no time.
Get Your MailChimp Embed Code
- Log in to MailChimp
- Click on “Lists”
- Select the email list you want to use as the popup
