1. Define your meaning of success
Definition of success differs from person to person. For some people success means having a lot of money, for some, it means having a peaceful life, for some, it means to be able to help others and for some, it means having a dream job. You have to define your meaning of success, make yourself aware what success and accomplishment in general means in your life. For an hour or two sit in quietest part of your house and think what’s important in your life and what a perfect and successful life would be to you.

2. Start thinking big

In the book “The Magic of Thinking Big”, author David Schwartz gives tips to help you develop creative power through belief. He states, “Eliminate the word impossible from your thinking and speaking vocabularies. Impossible is a failure word. The thought ‘It’s impossible’ sets off a chain reaction of other thoughts to prove you’re right.” In the book, he also advises the readers to think of something they have been wanting to do but felt they couldn’t, and write down the reasons why they can do it. When we start thinking and believing things can be done, our minds starts finding ways and solutions to the problems in the way of our success. The word impossible is for those who don’t want to achieve anything bigger in their lives, believe me, it’s always possible for you to do what you love, find your passion, be very happy, be very successful, start a life of your dreams and it all starts with making your mind to think big and bigger.
3. Set goals that align with your priorities
It’s very difficult to be satisfied in life no matter how successful you are and how much successful you are according to the society. It’s very difficult to live a satisfied and fulfilled life if you are not living according to your priorities. Define your meaning of successful life. Does it mean to be rich? Does it mean to have work-life balance? Does it mean to have your own business? It’s important you should define your meaning of successful life and set goals that align with your priorities so that you can work on your own version of success in a way that feels more authentic and fulfilling.
4. Make decision by keeping in mind future you
Get over your past and start thinking about the future. Think about what future version of you wants you to do today. Does future you wants to run an extra mile or stay in your comfort zone? Does future you wants you to wake up in the morning or just hit the snooze button and go back to sleep? Does future you wants you to take some serious actions towards your goal or mindlessly scroll through your facebook newsfeed for tonight?
Keep your future version in your mind before taking any decision. The future you depends on present you. Do your best today and we will find a better future version of yourself.

5. Rephrase your self-talk
We always try to be nice and polite to our best friends or to someone we care. Start paying attention to how you talk to your best friend and how you talk to yourself. For example, your friend tells you that he is going to lose 20 pounds during this month. What will be your reaction to this statement? Obviously, you are going to encourage him that he can do this.
On the other hand what if you say yourself that you are going to lose 20 pounds this month. You stand in front of meaning and say “yeah, right it’s not the first time you have decided this, you failed badly last time, there is no way you can do this, you will never keep up the habit of exercising.”
I want you to start respecting yourself and your decision. Rephrase your self-talk and start treating yourself as you treat your best friend. Rephrase your sentences. Instead of saying “I can’t” start saying “I don’t know how yet but I can learn”. Treat yourself with respect because you deserve it.
