10 Reasons To Travel

  • New places, new people, new adventures. It’s kind of like a temporary fresh start. No one knows you, you don’t know them, and you don’t have to worry about running into people you don’t want to see. You pack up your life, and all of sudden you’re half way across the world. You get to explore cultures, food, beaches and beautiful places.
  •  Inspiration. Being in new country or state often causes inspiration.  Seeing a piece of art or architecture may “unlock your brain” and cause you to look at a problem from a different perspective.
  •   Freedom. You are free to do what you want with no judgment. Do whatever you want, go wherever you want, be whoever you want. I mean, why not? Like I said earlier, no one knows you and you don’t know them.  Free your mind. You are free to be free.
  •   Relaxation. Besides the long flights and navigating through airports where everyone speaks a foreign language, it’s pretty relaxing. Lay out in the sun, drink out of a coconut, and sit under a palm tree! Hakuna Matata, it means no worries.
  •  Knowledge. You gain knowledge when you learn new things no matter big or small.  For example, I learned most people don’t tip in England which was something new to me. Absorb everything and take in as much as you can.
  •  Photography. Take pictures of everything whether it’s for instagram, a photography portfolio, a memory book, or just to send to your family. No matter amateur or professional, photography is fun!
  •  Disconnect. Traveling is an escape from your normal life. For a temporary amount of time you can breath without all of the responsibilities you have at home. You don’t have to move at a fast pace; everything is on your own time.
  •  Food. Try new foods! I promise it’ll be like nothing you have ever tasted before.
  •  Language. Learn new languages, or teach other people your language. Become fluent in the language, or just learn a few words/phrases to help you get around. No matter what, it’s always good to take a little bit of a new language home with you. “Ciao Bella!”
  •  Perspective. How you view the world now will drastically change after traveling because you are exposed to other cultures and customs.  You meet new people, eat exotic foods, and see new things. These things will make you realize you’ve been viewing the world from a very small lense.
