spring/summer 2016 makeup routine

so, writing out a makeup routine isn’t the easiest thing ever, but imma give it a shot.

I am very big on minimal makeup, mostly because I don’t have the patience/time/money for putting on makeup every day for school. So my routine is very basic, and it ends up looking very natural and it only takes me like 10-15 mins, depending on how many things I have to cover up.

So every morning I wash my Face with the Boots No. 7 Beautiful Skin balancing toner, and I just wipe that all over my face with a cotton pad or a cotton ball. It takes off all the gross oil that built up on my face overnight. I have combination skin, so it’s both oily and dry, and I find that this just balances everything out on my face.

Then, I squirt two or three pumps of the Neutrogena combination skin face moisturizer and massage that all into my face.

I also put on under eye cream after that, but I don’t know the brand. The label rubbed off (sorry.)

Then I go in with my Concealer, and I start off with a green concealer to neutralize redness. It looks crazy at first with all these green spots on your face but after you put the skin tone concealer on top of it, it works really well at covering up irritated red spots.

Then I go in with my Revlon Photoready stick concealer, and I draw that under my eyes in a triangle shape, and dot it onto any other imperfections. I Blend it out with my fingers.

I set all of that with my pressed powder foundation that I just buff into my skin with a fluffy kabuki brush. It evens out my skin tone and makes sure that the concealer won’t go anywhere.

After that, I put on my highlighter on my cheekbones and brow bones. I use Benefit’s High Beam, which is a nice golden color. It looks like nail polish, so I just wipe it on my face with the applicator, and blend it out with my fingers. I also put a couple dots on the bridge of my nose and blend that down the bone there as well. Sometimes it doesn’t like to blend so I always make sure to blend it out really well.

Then I contour my cheekbones with a big fluffy brush and some dark brown eyeshadow. I have olive toned skin with a lot of yellow undertones, so I picked a warmer hued brown eyeshadow so it would go well with my skin. I make a fish face and just put it in the hollows of my cheeks and on my jawline.

Next, I use my blush brush and my Shiseido pink blush and dab that on the apples of my cheeks, sparingly. I like to make it look like a nice, light, natural flush.

Then, I go in with my Maybelline brow gel and just brush that through my eyebrows to even them out and to make sure they stay in place all day. The applicator looks like a mascara wand, so it combs through the eyebrow hairs nicely.

Finally, I apply the Urban Decay Perversion mascara all over my upper and lower eyelashes. I’m very liberal with my mascara because I think my eyes are my best feature, so I like to play up the eyelashes.

Then I just use a touch of lip balm so my lips stay moisturized and don’t look dead

That’s literally it. It’s the simplest thing ever and doesn’t take that much time.
