Spring Break Necessities: The Makeup

Spring break is here! Along with it comes vacation and some fun in the sun. To get us all prepared, I decided to put together of some of my must haves for some sweat-proof fly-ness.

I know some people tend to skip moisturizing during hot weather, seeing as our Skin might get sweaty and oily. This might confuse some people and mislead them into believing skin doesn’t need any added moisture. This is wrong. Warm weather along with oiliness and sweating lead to dehydration in the skin. Therefore, it is important to protect your skin from moisture loss. Opt for a lightweight moisturizer like this Olay moisturizer, which doubles as a sunscreen with SPF 15. This will not only protect your skin from sun damage, but will also add the hydration necessary to prevent wrinkles and dullness.

Smashbox Cosmetics Photo Finish Foundation Primer Broad Spectrum SPF 20 with Dermaxyl Complex $42

This Smashbox primer is amazing. It’s no wonder it was the  winner of the Allure Magazine Best of Beauty Editor’s Choice Award for Best Primer, and  InStyle Magazine Best Beauty Buy. The primer is good for evening complexion, reducing the appearance of wrinkles, providing sun protection, and prepping skin for foundation. It has the added benefit of SPF 20 and Dermaxyl Complex which acts as a binding agent, ensuring your Makeup locks into your face for the most staying power.

MAC Studio Waterweight SPF 30 Foundation $33

Do you see a theme here? SPF is important, and when it is included in a lightweight product the results are remarkable. This MAC foundation quickly became my favorite. The lightweight (aptly named waterweight) formula and the dropper applicator are easy to use and a small amount goes a long way. I found the best way to apply this foundation is with a duo fiber brush, such as this Real Techniques one.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade $18

You didn’t think I’d send you out into the world without some eyebrows, did you? My personal favorite method of filling out my eyebrows is the smudge-proof, waterproof brow pomade. Unlike its famous sibling, the Brow Wiz®, it doesn’t contain wax so you won’t have to worry about your eyebrows melting off when you’re out tanning. If you want to reaaaaaaaaaally ensure your eyebrows don’t go anywhere you can add some clear brow gel, also by Anastasia because she’s the queen of brows.

Inglot Gel Liner, 77 $14

Personally, in warm weather if I must wear eye makeup, I opt for a simple cat eye with a vibrant lipstick. In order to achieve the perfect winged liner, I love the Inglot gel liner, which is a favorite among some of my favorite makeup gurus (yes yes I’m talking about Amrezy).

Too Faced La Créme Color Drenched Lipstick $22

Cat eye and vibrant lipsticks: that’s the goal. It is easily achievable with these lipsticks (which btw are on sale right now for $11!!!). The highly-pigmented formula resembles more a lip balm than a lipstick. But don’t let that discourage you (I don’t see why it would, but you know..) as this baby looks fantastic once applied.

The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer® $24

You can’t have vacation makeup without glowing! Enhance that tanned skin with some highlight and prepare to turn heads. This Mary-Lou Manizer is wonderful because it is subtle enough to not enhance your pores, but shimmery enough to diffuse the light and make you look angelic.

Don’t forget to set your makeup with some setting spray such as the Urban Decay All-Nighter (which you know is my favorite because I’ve spoken about it in almost every post including my Secret Weapons)!!

I’m getting ready to head to South Beach for my Spring Break, are you heading anywhere fun? What’s your go-to vacation makeup?
