Don’t Let Your Business Skip Leg Day

It is one of the most attractive business ideas out there. The chance to get fit, stay in shape, work your own hours, choose your customers and get paid incredibly well, especially if you get it right. But in a saturated market that is constantly filling up with more and more personal trainers, how do you make sure your service stands out that your personal training business grows.

Well, we are going to teach you some of the basics that you can build off.

Knowledge is Power

This is not just a matter of keeping on top of your own education and ensuring you know what trends are on the rise and what new sessions are proving to have the most success. No. Your need goes past that. You need to know what your clients are learning too. Anyone that is investing time and money into a personal trainer is taking their growth seriously, and that means they are probably doing their own research. So make sure you listen to what they are saying. Make sure you are reading the same blogs – the popular blogs – and squatting up on the new trends catching the public’s eye.

Offer Them Something More

Aside from giving them the best training and workout possible, try and offer your clients that little bit extra. A great way to do this would be to start relationships with bigger companies and see what discounts you can get. Being able to offer your clients a Protein World coupon, or a discount at a local sports shop, or clothing store, will make you more attractive than your competitors. The more people can get for their money the better, so figure out ways you can expand your offering and run with it.

Always Assign Homework

When you were at school, homework was a chore that you wish you didn’t have to do. When you are paying someone to get in better shape, you will want to do everything you can to maximise your chances and your dollar. So assign your Clients Things to do between your sessions. Make sure you are on their mind. Put the ball back in their court a bit by making them stay proactive. If you can make your sessions last longer without having to spend more time together you are onto a winner and will stand out above the sea of other personal trainers.

Be As Flexible As Possible

Okay, so we’re not saying remain Flexible in a physical sense, although that is going to be important too. What we mean is, stay flexible with your clients. Things happen in life that may mean a client cancels last minute or is running late. As such, have a cancellation policy that says you need 24 hours notice, but be flexible with this, not strict. Clients want to feel comfortable with you, not scared of letting you down. It also means being flexible with your operational hours. Most people have jobs, so that means your busiest times will be before working hours start, after working hours end and at weekends. So make sure you are available to work those times.
