The Middle Ground

The unfortunate truth is that often times in life, we end up in this Middle Ground. Unsure of how we feel, of what to think, and of where to go next. Not euphoric but not depressed. Not thriving, with exceeding blessings and benefits, but not dirt poor and a$$ out. It can be frustrating, being in this in between stage. However, I feel its important to accept and embrace this stage of life.

Calm. Its can often be agitating in this space. Its an uncomfortable calm. Like right after a thunderstorm, before the sun begins to shine. Or, like the next day after returning home from a vacation but not ready to return to work. Its that unruly feeling of "what next?" My example is that I have finally accepted that I am not moving back to Columbus. The stress and worry and indecisiveness have all passed, and now I am left with okay God, what now? I must be careful, however. There are a few land mines ready to blow if I am not on my p's and q's.

God promises to grant us peace in these times, if we promise to remain steadfast. But, it can be easy to get side tracked. Times of idleness are when its easiest to stray from the plan. Heres what to look out for . . . .

Confliction

I think at times when we are unsure about life, it can be easy to have conflict in our minds. Go right or go left? Stay or go? We feel as though something has to happen NOW, at this very moment and the conflict in our minds can cause us to act fast. Don't. Remain calm, cool, and collected. Chill, and wait on God.

Oh, I know changing your mind can be so tempting. We make a life decision, then wait. Wait for results. And when they don't come as quickly as we feel they should, we decide to change our minds. Impulsively acting. We have to remember two things; that Gods time is not our time and that God puts us where we need to be WHEN we need to be there. Don't allow this time of idleness confuse you. Blessings and benefits are coming. Stay steadfast.

The middle ground. Such an uncomfortable place to be. Such a hard space to occupy. It can be unthinkable calm and agitating. But, be patient. Be steadfast. And wait.
