Trump is campaigning in California ahead of the state’s GOP primary, the largest contest for Republican candidates, with 172 delegates awarded. While Trump is currently polling at nearly 50 percent in the state, he faced some ironic difficulties entering his much-anticipated event Friday afternoon.
“Most people, especially distinguished guests, use the door to enter a building. Presidential candidate Donald Trump—someone who has professed to love walls—jumped over U.S. Highway 101 median to get to the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Burlingame, California. That’s where he was the keynote speaker at the California Republican Convention on Friday,” reported NBC Bay Area.

Apparently, Old Bayshore Road was blocked by anti-Trump protesters, fighting against Trump’s southern border proposal, among other policies.

“We’re here to stop Donald Trump, and to make clear that we’re building a movement that’s going to take direct action to stop his racist demagoguery and the ways in which he’s been encouraging racist attacks against immigrants in this country, against Arab and Muslim people, against Latinos and other people who he’s trying to whip up racist cynicism for. Donald Trump is the voice for the right wing, and the far right wing, and he’s really dangerous,” explained activist and rally attendee Yvette Felarca.
But while the majority of California Republicans have a favorable view of the GOP frontrunner, Trump’s demagoguery equally frustrates some. According to KCRA’s David Bienick, “Four in 10 California Republicans say they’d be upset if he wins their party’s nomination.”
“I thought people would kind of get over it, see through it, realize it’s not substantive, realize how dangerous it would be to put someone like him in the Oval Office. Myself and almost everyone else have been wrong about that,” Republican political consultant Rob Stutzman said in February.
