Minimizing E-waste-Four Effective Tips

India is the country that generates maximum e-waste, say news reports. If that is true, ours is the country that exploits earth’s sources of energy to the maximum.

The process of manufacturing Electric Devices requires lots of energy. When we recycle the metals and plastic used in them, we minimize mining. This will relieve the earth of the excessive stress we force upon it.

The time when India depended on traditional methods to connect to the world is long gone., At present, almost every Indian home will have at least five electric devices. And the number is on the rise., Today, India is the country that generates maximum e-waste. Fortunately, you don’t have to be one among the waste-contributors. Just remember these tips.

  1. Donate them

Take good care of your devices. When you feel that you had enough of one, donate it to someone in need. You may also sell them on eBay or any other similar website.

  1. Contact the recycling center in your locality

Contact a recycling center in your locality and give them those unused devices. There may be many such groups in your State or country. Some offer you a reasonable price. Others may ask you to donate the same. Whatever is the scenario, donating is far better than wasting something.

  1. Maintain them properly

Take good care of your electronic devices. Doing this will add years to their lifespan. And when they get damaged, try refurbishing instead of buying a new one.

  1. Don’t just throw them in your trash can

Don’t treat electronic waste in the same way as ordinary trash. Collect them separately and store them in cupboards. Make sure that they are kept beyond the reach of pets and children.

You can also upgrade your device when it gets older. It is much more affordable than buying a new one. Get a larger hard drive if you feel that your computer needs more storage.
