One day, Joseph comes to his master’s house to do some work. And there are no men inside. His master’s wife catches hold of his tunic and asks him to sleep with her. Joseph leaves the tunic with her and runs out as fast as he can.
She, on the other hand, calls her servants. She tells them that their master has brought a servant to make her a fool. Joseph tried to burst in on her. But she screamed. When he heard it, he just left the tunic with her and ran away; she reports.
She keeps the tunic with her until his master comes home. She tells him the same story. The Hebrew slave he brought tried to burst in on her. When she screamed, he left his tunic with her and ran out.
This infuriates Joseph’s master. He gets him arrested and puts him in a prison where all the king’s prisoners are kept. Joseph stays there.
Here too, God is with Joseph. He makes the chief of the prison look with favor on him. He entrusts all the prisoners with Joseph and doesn’t bother about anything. God blesses everything that Joseph undertakes.
