My Evening Skin Care Routine

We all have those evenings where we find ourselves reaching for the face wipes when it gets to bed time, but we all know that's not the best for our Skin. Obviously there are times where I commit a facial sin and simply give my skin a quick wipe but I always regret it in the morning and gravitate straight back to my go to evening skin care routine.

So here's the deal with my skin - it's dry but then goes oily through the day, it's acne prone but not so acne prone that I need serious hard core treatments and it also has a little bit of scarring from previous spots where I scar super easily, so now you know the in's and out's these are the products I use to help my skin along.

First things first I want to remove that day old makeup so for this I'm currently using 'Botanics - All bright 3 in 1 micellar water' which retails at £2.99 this product is great at getting off your makeup and is super sensitive and gentle on that skin of yours! However I don't think it's the best micellar water on the market, there are better alternatives for similar prices for sure but it does the job.

Now to make sure I've removed every trace of makeup and dirt from my skin I go in with my Clarasonic Mia 2 which retails at £125, since purchasing my Clarasonic it has become a holy grail product and is for sure something I miss when I've forgotten to pop it back on charge. It's really shocking just how to much makeup you leave on your skin without noticing, there is something grotesquely satisfying about looking at your Clarasonic and seeing the dirt from your face on the brush. Clarasonics are definitely an investment piece but something that I'd recommend especially for someone with acne prone skin. To pair with my clarasonic I use 'Elemis FreshSkin - facial wash' retailing at £13 I'd say is a great price as it lasts for ages and definitely helps to tackle those spots whilst keeping the skin tip top.

For an extra step sometimes I'll go in with 'Nip and Fab - Deep Cleansing Fix' This huge tub is £7.95 and is such a multiuse product such as removing makeup, using it as a face mask, an overnight treatment or apply directly to spots. I use this as often an intensive mask when my skin is looking a tad dry just to suck some life back in there or as a direct spot treatment. I don't like sleeping with something heavy on my face and the same goes for removing my makeup, it's just a tad too heavy for my liking.

Now for targeting them acne scars, I've tried so many products but nothing was making them pesky scars budge but I picked up 'Boots - Scar Reduction Serum' it's £7.99 and is a little hidden gem. Seriously if you struggle with any scarring or hyper pigmentation this will calm that right down, I've noticed a vast improvement in the appearance of my skin, where more expensive products weren't even touching the scars.

I'll then go in with a combination of 'Kiehl's Midnight Recovery' at £36 and 'Dermologica Overnight Treatment' at £13 these both help to keep spots away. Kieh'ls Midnight Recovery helps to keep my skin moisturized and looking fresh and just helps with the general appearance of my skin. Whereas the Dermologica Overnight Treatment is specifically for spots as I do find it a tad drying on my skin.

Then it's just the basics of eye cream which I'm currently using 'Yes To Cucumber - eye gel' which is £11.99 (but it's always on offer - just keep an eye out) I find eye gels difficult to talk about as I feel at the moment I wont notice any huge difference as I'm fortunate enough not to have dark circles, I just like to think it will pay off in the long run!

Finally I like to just top it off with some lip balm this one in particular is 'EOS - Coconut Milk' which retails in the UK at £5.99, I do love this lip balm it's nice and fresh and moisturizing but not sticky nor heavy, just right!

Then it's off to snuggle up in bed with my cat and a book, I know what a crazy night!
