The 6 Best Manuka Honey Skin Care Products That Saved My Skin

It’s no secret that your Skin is the first line of defense between you and the world around you. Your skin is constantly working to protect you from harmful bacteria and other microbes that can cause illness, so it’s essential to take care of it.

In recent years, Manuka Honey has become increasingly popular in skin care products because of the antibacterial properties it contains. It’s also known for its wound-healing effects and its ability to treat acne—especially when applied topically. Now many doctors are also recommending it as a treatment for cuts, burns, or other skin ailments.

We live in an age of overstimulation. We have too many options and choices—and with so much information at our fingertips, how do you know which manuka Honey skin care products are worth trying? So today, I’m going to share with you five of my favorite manuka honey skin care products—all of which I’ve tried and tested.

Let’s get started!

1. Best Facial Scrub: Era Organics Microdermabrasion Facial Scrub with Manuka Honey & Walnut

I’ve used this product twice a week for the past month and it has done wonders for my skin. I noticed that my acne was lessened, and overall my skin felt much softer.

The texture of the scrub is similar to St. Ives Apricot Scrub, but it’s less gritty, which is great for exfoliating your skin without irritating it. The walnut pieces are also very fine, so it doesn’t feel like you’re rubbing rocks all over your face—it feels more like a sugar scrub without being as abrasive.

It also smells amazing—kind of like honey! And instead of just being a scrub that you wash off immediately after applying it to your face, you should actually leave this product on for at least 10 minutes before rinsing off with warm water.

I did notice that this product helped reduce a few skin tags that I had on my face, which was nice!

The product comes in a small container, which is great for traveling or just keeping things tidy in your bathroom. The only downside is that it doesn’t seem to help with pore size as much as other reviews claimed it would do—it may work differently on different people!

All in all, this scrub is definitely worth buying if you’re looking for something affordable but effective that will give you results without breaking the bank!

2. Best Facial Mask: Freeman Deep Clearing Clay Facial Mask with Manuka Honey and Tea Tree Oil

I’ve been using this mask for about a year now and it’s really helped me keep my skin clear. It’s got manuka honey, tea tree oil, and other clean ingredients that help with acne-prone skin and breakouts.

The thing I love most about this mask is how quickly it works! It instantly deep cleanses while you let it sit on your face for 10 minutes—just enough time for me to watch an episode of my favorite show or read some articles online before washing it off with warm water and wiping any residual off with a cotton ball and toner.

It has a smooth texture and absorbs oil without over-drying my skin. It’s easy to apply and easy to remove—and I moisturize immediately after use so that my face doesn’t feel tight.

After using it every week for about three weeks, my acne has almost disappeared and I no longer get those pesky pimples! My face feels soft after use. I love the way it makes me look!

You don’t need much at all for your face, so one tube will last for months (and each tube costs about $5). I would highly recommend this product if you’re looking for an affordable facial mask that actually works!

3. Best Eye Cream: Wild Ferns Manuka Honey Intensive Refining Eye Crème

I’ve always been a fan of the Wild Ferns manuka honey products line, so when I saw the Intensive Refining Eye Crème, I was thrilled. It’s made in New Zealand and is a great treatment for any skin issues you may have around your eyes.

It smells like heaven and really does what it says it will: it diminishes signs of aging, protects and nourishes the delicate skin around the eyes, and keeps wrinkles off my face in just a week or two! It has brightened up my eye area and made me look younger than ever before!

I use this on both my upper and lower eyelids every morning before I put on my makeup. It’s very light and not greasy at all—in fact, it absorbs quickly into my skin so that I don’t have to worry about putting on make-up over it. I’ve always had dark circles and puffy eyes, and this product helped to diminish those signs of aging by keeping my skin moisturized.

Although the scent is strong when applied, it doesn’t linger long. This is great because some people find certain scents to be overwhelming (I know I do).

Finally, the packaging makes this product really easy to use: it comes with a pump so you don’t have to stick your fingers into the jar every time you want to apply some cream around your eyes. Overall, this is a great product and I would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a high-quality eye cream.

4. Best for Minor Wounds & Cuts: First Honey Sterile Manuka Honey Ointment

I was lucky enough to find the First Honey sterile manuka honey ointment in the midst of an online search and was intrigued by the idea of using medical-grade manuka honey as an alternative to prescription medicine. My husband had a nasty wound on his leg and it seemed like it would never heal. I had been using Neosporin, but it wasn’t helping much.

It’s certified as Medical-grade honey, which basically means that it’s safe to use on open wounds! This means that it has been tested by the FDA and found safe for human use. Food-grade honey is not an alternative for open wounds. Medical-grade honey is sterilized to remove microorganisms that are not harmful when ingested but can cause infection if introduced into a wound.

Here’s what you need to do: Clean the affected area with warm water and pat dry with a clean towel or paper towel (you don’t want any dirt getting into the wound). Apply the ointment directly to the wound and cover it with sterile bandages if needed. You’ll feel a little burn at first—but don’t worry, this is normal! The burn will subside within a few seconds, and you should start feeling better! Keep the area clean and dry, and change bandages as needed.

We also apply it to his psoriasis and notice that the redness and irritation goes down within a day or two. The texture is thick and gooey—it may seem messy at first, but we have found that keeping the wound moist heals it faster than anything else.

The only downside is that there isn’t enough in the tube for more than 2 applications—it would be great if this product came in larger sizes. A tube will cost you around $12. The 1-ounce tube may seem expensive but bear in mind that this is real MGO 400+ grade manuka honey from New Zealand. And we all know how expensive it can be!

However, I would not suggest using this product as an alternative to Medihoney, which is a superior product. If you’re on a budget or just want something for quick relief though, First Honey sterile manuka honey ointment will do the job!

5. Best Moisturiser: Advanced Clinicals Manuka Honey Face & Body Moisturizing Lotion

My skin has been dry lately, and even though I have tried several different moisturizers, they would not work well with me. I don’t like the greasy feeling of some lotions, so when Dr. Dray, a dermatologist on YouTube recommended this product in one of her videos, I decided to try it out.

I am happy to say that this lotion lives up to the hype! It’s infused with royal jelly, propolis, and beeswax—and rare manuka honey from New Zealand. I’ve been using it for a month now and have noticed that my skin is much softer, more supple, and has a more healthy glow to it.

The mild fragrance was pleasant, but not overpowering. I have not noticed any irritation from using this product on my sensitive skin at all.

When I rub it into my hands, there is no sticky residue left behind. It absorbs quickly into my skin without feeling heavy nor greasy. The pump on top of the bottle makes it easy to dispense just what you need every time (and you will use it often because it feels so good!)

The price is unbeatable for how much you get—I only need a small amount each time I use it, so there’s enough left over to save for future use. Although the amount of manuka honey in this product is minute (that’s why it’s so affordable I guess), I’m sure that little bit helps to protect against a tiny infection.

If you’re looking for an affordable way to moisturize your face and body during the winter months or if you suffer from dry hands throughout the year (like me), then I highly recommend trying out this lotion!

6. Best Lip Balm: Wedderspoon Organic Manuka Honey Lip Balm

I’ve been a fan of Wedderspoon for a while now. They’re a leading producer of Manuka honey, and I trust their quality. Their dedication to quality shows in every one of their products—and if you try this lip balm, I promise you’ll fall in love with it too!

CHECK PRICE ON AMAZON

It’s made with organic ingredients, including shea butter, beeswax, and cocoa butter—and it’s the perfect consistency for applying to your lips. The texture is soft, and the smell is quite nice. It doesn’t feel too waxy or too thick, which is something I’ve run into with other lip balms.

I had chapped lips before trying this lip balm out, but one application was enough to get rid of the peeling skin and leave me with smooth-feeling lips again.

It’s super moisturizing, and it doesn’t need to be constantly reapplied. You can just apply it once in the morning, and you’re good to go all day long. It comes in a cool little container that’s pretty easy to carry around, too.

I love that this balm comes in three different flavors: Peppermint, Coconut Lime, and Lavender Lemon. The Peppermint flavor is my favorite, but they all smell wonderful. The only downside is that the container doesn’t have an expiration date, so I don’t know how long it will last.

Final Thoughts

Manuka honey has become increasingly popular in skin care products over the last few years. We’re not surprised—this potent substance helps to heal wounds, fight acne and soothe psoriasis!

The products we’ve listed above offer a variety of benefits, including rehydrating dry skin, acne reduction, and even anti-aging properties. But as with any new skincare product, it’s important to do a patch test to make sure they won’t cause a reaction on your skin. And if you have a medical skin condition, talk to your dermatologist about whether these products are safe for use in combination with other treatments.
