Making a Bacon Bouquet for the one you love this Valentine’s Day looks harder than it is. Truly, it’s something that take less than an hour, costs less than $20 and will get you tons of bonus points for creativity!
If you are searching for the perfect gift then this is for you!
What you need:
- Artificial flowers
- A vace
- Baking pan
- Cookie rack
When choosing your flowers be sure that the flower can ripped off, leaving a stub to stick the bacon into. The bigger the stub the better as it gives it more of a grab for the bacon.
Remove the petals from the flowers, leaving just the stub and stems.
Once you are done, preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Now you’re going to start preparing your bacon! Take the baking sheet and line it with foil, then add the cookie rack.
Lay your bacon flat on a cutting board and carefully roll up the bacon. Take a toothpick and stick the toothpick in the bottom ‘fatty’ part to hold it together. Place the bacon ‘fatty’ side down on the cookie rack.
Once you are done with all of your bacon, your oven should be ready! Just carefully place the bacon in the oven making sure none of the bacon pieces fall over and cook for 25 minutes.
Around 10 minutes in, just to be sure your bacon hasn’t topped over, and if it had just carefully place it back up with a thongs.
Once your bacon is nice and golden brown take it out of the oven and let it cool for about 15-20 minutes. Gently tap the bacon flowers to remove some of the extra oil.
Take the stem and bacon and carefully poke the stem into the ‘fatty’ bottom hole of the bacon. Place the bacon in your vace and you’re done!
You can add some nice chocolate and a ribbon to your vace to make it look a bit fancy if you choose! Enjoy!
