Slightly less famous

Remember that the object of these puzzles is not simply to Solve them but to change the way you approach a problem and in so doing learn to harness your brain's full potential to tackle life's bigger problems.

The Puzzle

A man weighs exactly 150 pounds.

He carries with him three diamonds each weighing exactly one pound each.

Three men are chasing him to steal the diamonds and so he has to hurry.

As he rushes along, he encounters a bridge with a sign that reads: maximum weight 152 pounds.

Since he is being chased, doesn't have time to go over the bridge more than once; that is to say, he can only cross the bridge once.

He must get all three diamonds across the bridge in order to escape the three men chasing him, and he can not leave any of the diamonds behind.

The bridge is over a mile long, suspended a mile high, and the only way across is by walking on the bridge.

Once across he burns the bridge, and then he is safe from the thieves with his three one-pound diamonds.

How did he do it?

How to Solve It

The biggest hint any reader will get on this puzzle is that it's less famous then the most famous puzzle provided on the site. That might not seem like very much help but keep in mind the harder you think about it the further away you get from the answer.

Disposals do not require and advanced education, a high intellect, a genius IQ, special books, or anything that would lead anybody to believe they do not have the tools to answer this puzzle. In actuality, the answer is simple, and in there lies the secret behind a lot of puzzle; the answer is so obvious, and right in front of you, that you often pass right by it and complicate the problem with assumptions and conclusions and deductions that don't necessarily help solve the problem. Perhaps that lesson can be applied in other factors in our lives, but for now let's focus on the puzzle.

How to Play

Somebody you know, knows the answer to this puzzle. That is almost always the case. For those that do solve it right away or happened to know in advance, please obey the rules of the lateral puzzle guidelines that you most likely enjoyed in trying to solve this yourself.

As always yes or no questions are acceptable; however, this puzzle will most likely steer you further from the solution the more questions you ask. What I particularly enjoyed about this puzzle is that you can solve this on your own without any tools, advanced education, or help, and when you do you will feel just as I did a paradigm shift in the way you approach problem solving in general.

The answer might not come right away, and I was fine, it would not be a challenge or interesting if it was simple. However, it is not impossible and you know the answer just as I did, and when I realized the answer that aha moment felt wonderful, & I guarantee you will enjoy too.
