You can choose to enroll in their weekly grocery plan, where they automatically fill your cart with a selection of high-quality grocery items curated just for you. — Or you can opt to completely customize your weekly order by choosing from hundreds of different grocery essentials from seasonal produce, high quality meats/seafood, plant-based meat alternatives, and a wide range of name brand pantry essentials. Everything was shipped in a large box with the Misfits Market logo on the side.
A layer of (recyclable!) insulation was in place above the contents to keep them fresh. — An ice pack was also included inside.

Misfits Market provided me with a $60 credit to build my own box. I was able to purchase ALL of the following items, as well as shipping for just under $60 total.
Let’s see what I bought!
Produce:
- Bright Farms Sunny Crunch Lettuce, 4 oz ($2.99)
- Organic Large Lemons, 2 ct ($2.19)
- Cal-Organic Farms Organic Carrots, 1 lb ($1.29)
I didn’t need too much produce when I placed my order, so I just went with a couple staples. I was happy to find that the Bright Farms lettuce was perfectly crisp and in better shape than I often see at our local grocery store. Impressive! The carrots and lemons were also without any issues.
Breakfast Foods:
- KIND Snacks Healthy Grains Bars, Double Dark Chocolate, 5 ct ($2.39)

So maybe I didn’t choose the healthiest breakfast options, but they sure are tasty. I absolutely LOVE just about everything made by Abe’s, so I had to stock up on these amazing muffins — especially since they were only $1.49 each! (They sell for $2.50 at our local Whole Foods.) I also couldn’t say no to a full box of KIND bars for just $2.39. Such a good price!
Pantry Staples:
- Odds & Ends Organic Pumpkin Purée, 15 oz ($2.98 for 2)
- Bragg Nutritional Yeast, 4.5 oz ($4.99)
- Dunya Harvest Organic Red Lentils, 16 oz ($3.09)
Since I love making pumpkin-infused baked goods, I chose the 2-pack of organic pumpkin purée — which was also a nice deal at under $3 for 2 cans. My current container of nutritional yeast is close to expiration, so I replaced it with a new one. Lastly, the organic red lentils were chosen for the countless batches of chili I make during these cold months.
Bread-y Things:
- Atoria’s Traditional Naan, 11 oz ($3.19)
- Dave’s Killer Bread English Muffins (?)
I always have trouble tracking down naan that’s vegan-friendly, so I was excited to find these flatbreads from Atoria’s Family Bakery. I’ve already used the whole package making homemade pizza and it turned out amazing. SO good! As for the Dave’s Killer Bread English Muffins… Well, I didn’t order any. Ha. I did notice that one of my items was missing, so I’m guessing they just swapped it out with these instead.
Snacks & Sweets:
- Beanitos Black Bean Tortilla Chips, 5 oz ($2.49)
- Unreal Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups, 4 oz ($4.34)
- Dr. Bronner’s Crunchy Hazelnut Butter Chocolate Bar, 2.93 oz ($3.25)
- Abe’s Pumpkin Pound Cake, 14 oz ($5.99)
Treat time! I chose Beanitos because I love them and never see them in my local grocery store. The Unreal Peanut Butter Cups were a little splurge since I’m usually too cheap to buy them on my own. The chocolate bar… I had no idea that Dr. Bronner made anything aside from soap & household products, so I had to give it a try. (It was a lot sweeter (or more bitter?) than I anticipated, but not too bad.) And of course I had to grab an Abe’s Pumpkin Pound Cake, because why the heck not?
I was very pleased with my first Misfits Market experience. I wasn’t sure how much I would be able to order with my $60 credit, but was pleasantly surprised by all of the great prices. There were many items that were considerably less than I would pay at my local grocery store — all great name brands too! I was also impressed at how fresh the produce was upon arrival. That was another thing I was a little leery about, but the lettuce couldn’t have been crisper. Oh, and the shipping was very reasonable as well, at only $7.99 for my entire order. Wins all around!
