Norlii December 2022 Scandi Home Subscription Box Review & Coupon Code

Norlii is a bi-monthly Scandinavian home subscription box that offers a mix between clean-lined Scandi design and softer, more organic items to create a harmonious home.

Each box will feature a collection of full-size decor and lifestyle items that support the Nordic design style. The materials are typically natural (stoneware, wood, wool, linen, seagrass, etc.) and consist of a neutral color scheme (grey, white, charcoal, beige). Boxes will typically have a theme that somehow connects to the current season, but the pieces will also work together throughout the year. Items can include blankets, pillows, ceramics, scented candles, votives, art prints, and more.

Disclosure: Box was received for review. Post may contain affiliate links.

Subscriptions are $74.90/box plus shipping (varies depending on location). — For a limited time, you can save 20% on your first box with coupon code “ROSE20“!

Let’s see what’s in the December 2022 Norlii Box!

Everything was shipped in a plain brown box with a small black Norlii logo in the bottom right corner.

A peek inside!

An info booklet revealed the theme of December’s box — “Stockholm in December” — a curated collection of items that invoke the spirit of Stockholm during the holiday season. Inspiration for the box was taken from “the crisp air, the beautiful city lights, a visit to ‘gamla stan’ and fika at a cozy cafe”.

All of the items in December’s box were tucked into a large fabric (reusable!) drawstring sack.

Martin Schwartz Cake Tins ($36 value)

Bring the beauty of Sweden & Stockholm into your kitchen for the holidays and year ’round with this delightful set of cake tins. Each tin features the artwork of Danish designer/artist Martin Schwartz, who is known for his detailed illustrations of towns, cities, and regions. The larger of the two tins depicts a landscape of Sweden (“Sverige” is Swedish for “Sweden”), while the smaller tin features a Stockholm cityscape design. These tins are perfect for storing delicious cakes, pies, and other treats — or simply displayed as decor. I’m pretty sure I donated all of my cheap old cookie tins when we moved, so these will be great replacements. 🙂

Measurements: Large tin approx. 7.7″ in diameter by 3.5″ high. Small tin approx. 5.7″ in diameter by 2.7″ high.

Broste Copenhagen Nordic Sand Plate ($24 value)

The unique design of this small serving plate was inspired by the color and surface of the Nordic coastline. Each plate is expertly handcrafted and guaranteed to be a truly one-of-a-kind piece. (I should probably point out that the little “b” in the center is just a sticker and not part of the actual design. 😉 ) The plate is made of sturdy (heavy!) stoneware and measures approximately 8.5″ long by 5″ wide by 1″ high. It’s the perfect size for serving homemade treats and appetizers.

Anna’s Original Almond Thins ($6 value)

Speaking of treats... Norlii wanted to make sure their subscribers had some cookies on hand to fill the tins, display on the tray above, and of course — to eat! Known as “Sweden’s Most Loved Pepparkakor”, these thin & crispy cookies are similar in taste to ginger snaps and are baked right in Stockholm. Back in the 90’s I’d always make a point to buy a few packs of these on my excursions to our nearest Ikea (over the border in Canada), because they were one of the few vegan-friendly cookies that I knew of back then. (Oh, how times have changed!) Needless to say, I was delighted to see them in December’s box and can’t wait to bring back the sweet nostalgia of my 20’s. 😉

Södahl Dish Towel 2-Pack ($26 value)

You can never have too many good dish towels! This pair — from renowned Scandinavian brand Södahl — were designed to last. They’re made of 100% cotton and feature a neutral color palette of white & beige with a classic vertical stripe pattern. Each towel measures roughly 27.5 inches long by 19.7 inches wide. Use them to wipe spills, dry dishes, keep bread/rolls warm, and more.

Blinka Paper Star ($32 value)

How pretty is this white paper star?! — I LOVE it! According to the info booklet, seas of similar white paper stars can be seen displayed in the windows of old buildings throughout Stockholm during the month of December. The little cut-out details on this piece are so beautiful and I couldn’t wait to find a spot to hang it. I may need to adjust the length of the string, but I absolutely love how it looks in our dining room window. So pretty!!

Recipe: Pepparkakor

As a little bonus, Norlii also included a recipe for traditional Swedish Pepparkakor. 🙂

The December 2022 “Stockholm in December” themed Norlii box truly brought the spirit of the Swedish holiday season right into my home! Each and every item was not only beautifully crafted, but also both useful and practical. I already know which treats I’ll be tucking into my new tins, where to hang the star, and who will be enjoying the cookies (spoiler: me!). Such an amazing box! December’s retail value was impressive as well, at $124!  — Remember, for a limited time, you can save 20% on your first box with coupon code “ROSE20“!
