Rocksbox is a subscription based “try before you buy” jewelry service that allows you to rent or buy pieces from a collection of trendy, yet affordable designers.
Upon signing up, you’ll be asked to complete a style quiz that helps Rocksbox determine the jewelry styles that best suit your needs. You can specify metal type, earring styles, ring size, stone preference, and more. You can also omit jewelry you don’t have a use for — I no longer have pierced ears, so I choose the “no earrings” option.
Disclosure: Box was received for review purposes. Post may contain affiliate/referral links.
At the end of the style quiz, you’ll have a chance to indicate additional preferences — such as designers you like/dislike, any metal allergies, upcoming events, etc. Rocksbox carries popular designers such as Kate Spade, Kendra Scott, Gorjana, Slate, Aster, Sophie Harper, and more.
Next, you can browse all of the available jewelry and add your favorites to your wishlist.
Rocksbox recommends adding at least 30 items to your wishlist so their stylists can start preparing your first box with those selections in mind. There is no limit to how many items you can add. You can also rank your top 10 favorite pieces, which are moved to the top of your wishlist and given preference over the others.
Once your stylist curates your first collection, you’ll receive an email to preview the set and swap out any pieces for others that better suit you. — I LOVE this option, as it ultimately gives you full control over the pieces you receive.
When you receive your box, you can keep and wear the pieces as long as you’d like. The $21/month membership fee allows you to “rent” an unlimited amount of sets in that single-month period. If you decide to purchase any of the pieces, you’ll be able to use the $21 fee right towards the cost of the item(s). Anything you choose to return is simply shipped back to Rocksbox in the pre-paid shipping envelope included with each box.

Okay, let’s check out my November 2020 Rocksbox!
My jewelry was shipped in a white padded envelope via First Class Mail. — Make sure you open it carefully, as you’ll need to use this same envelope to mail back any items you choose not to keep.
All of the pieces were tucked into a small lidded box that’s 100% recyclable & made in the USA.
The unboxing has begun!
All of the pieces in my new set were detailed on the sheet above (also shown in the screenshot from my account). It included photos and retail prices vs. member prices for each item, along with any discounts and credits I may have earned. (Members receive $25 in “forever credit” for each person they refer to Rocksbox. This credit can be used to purchase any item(s) in your set. All members always receive special member pricing that’s lower than retail.)
Each piece of jewelry was individually packaged in its own custom drawstring bag.
Kendra Scott Ari Heart Pendant Necklace (Member Price: $48)
Kendra Scott has been popping up a ton in my boxes lately, so if you’re a fan of her jewelry there’s a pretty good chance of receiving some. 😉 This dainty necklace features a 15-inch chain with 2-inch extender and is constructed of rhodium over brass. The darling heart-shaped pendant is made of ivory mother of pearl outlined with a sparkly pavé border.
SLATE Huxley Cuff (Retail:
$50, Member Price: $42)
I want to like cuffs, I really do… They just never fit my wrist the way I’d like them to and I hate how they feel like they’re going to puncture my skin when I try to take them off. (Just me?!) That said, I really do like the chainlink-inspired style of the silver over brass piece above. It actually fits snugly enough, but removing it still felt like it was going to snag some tendons. Ha.
Rudiment Glen Ring (Retail:
$65, Member Price: $55)
For some reason, I thought this ring would be a lot larger. (Well, the diamond part, not the actual ring size.) To my surprise, I ended up liking it a lot more due to its understated daintiness. 🙂 The tiny diamond features a pavé pattern inside that adds a touch of bling to this silver plated bronze piece.
As mentioned earlier, Rocksbox provides a pre-paid shipping label to return any of the items that you don’t want to purchase. Once you’re finished trying them on/out, just place them right back in the box they came in and ship them back so they can start building your next set. Easy!
I’m still unsure whether or not I’m going to keep any of the pieces in my November 2020 Rocksbox set, so I’m thankful that they give you all month long to make a final decision. 😉 — Remember, for a limited time you can score a full month of Rocksbox for FREE (along with a $21 credit) when you use coupon code “2littlerosebudsxoxo” at checkout!
