Stop paying for the errors committed by your shipping carrier

A business is the sum total of all the businesses it’s associated with. A shipping partner’s errors can cost you. So, it makes sense to continue paying for all the errors that are committed by your shipping carrier.

Tracking inaccuracies

Once the product is shipped to your customer, your customer gets an email on the whereabouts of the package until successful Delivery. A shipper who does not have real time tracking systems can mess up with package details. So, if a package is slated to arrive in a day’s time but takes longer than a day is definitely a problem. The customer never realised that the shipper is at fault but blames the seller. To make sure you don’t pay for your shipping partner’s fault, it’s a good idea to let the customers know beforehand about tracking delays if you get to know them first. Details like ship dates, delivery dates, in-stock vs. out-of-stock, and over / under quoting for freight shipping are not always accurately given to the customer. So, how do you make sure you don’t pay for this? Use a shipping platform like LateShipment PULSE that makes things transparent.

Automate shipping processes

If your shipper delivers a package later than promised, he owes you a full Refund. But the process to get that refund is next to impossible if you track it manually; especially so if you send a lot of packages. So, it is a good idea to automate the process so that you don’t miss the refund. There are several late shipment refund automation programs you can sign up for. You will never miss a refund and you can do this effortlessly. If you try to do this manually, you might miss refunds.

Not recognising office spaces and residences correctly

As we all know, shipping delivery rates differ between zip codes. Residences have lower probability of finding someone at the door to sign for delivery. Offices, during weekdays that is, find takers for the package and delivery signatures almost always. So, deliveries to Office addresses are cheaper than they are to home addresses. So, where do things get messed up? Shipping carriers have a list of office blocks, residential zones and sometimes get the classification wrong. So, you might end up paying more for a delivery when it’s incorrectly identified as a residence when it’s actually an office building. Today, more and more ecommerce customers are comfortable receiving their online purchases from their office these days since delivery times and their availability match at work. So, if you know for a fact that it’s an office address you are mailing a package to, you need to double check and make sure you are billed the right amount.
