As for many reasons, you might want to check out the Password of a Wi-Fi network. Since you forgot the password, or since you simply don’t want to dig out the router to find the PIN code information, so you want the Wi-Fi password. Another reason is sharing the password with your friends or family members, or logging into the network with a different device. In case the password is not handy, there’s a way to find it on your connected Android device. If your phone has already had the root access, you can easily see the Wi-Fi password for any network you previously used.

There are some different ways to view the Wi-Fi password that’s saved on your Android device. It’s simple to find it with a File Explorer or apps from the Google Play store. As long as your phone is rooted, you can have the access to these files with ease and see the Wi-Fi passwords. We are now going to share with you how to find the password with a file explorer, and then use an app to help you.
How to Find Wi-Fi Passwords on Android
Once you download a File Explorer app from Play Store such as ES File Explorer or File Explorer Root, open it with root privileges. But make sure you grant it access, then follow the steps below.
·     Download and install ES File Explorer or a similar app
  • Launch it and head to Local or System Folder
  • Now, go to Device Folder and choose Data
  • Take note and tap on the folder named Misc
  • Scroll down and tap on Wi-Fi
  • Open the folder named wpa_supplicant.conf

Here, you will see a list of text with the details of every Wi-Fi network you’ve ever connected to. These text files include the Wi-Fi name, password, as well as the security type. You can easily read the wpa_supplicant.conf file with the help of text editor, so just open it in plain text.

Your duty now is scrolling through all saved Wi-Fi networks until you find the Wi-Fi hotspot you are searching for. Continue to scroll through the information on SSID and PSK.
Find Android Wi-Fi Password Through An App
If using file explorers and opening the text files isn’t your hobby, there is another option. Simply launch Google Play Store and download the WiFi Key Recovery app. It requires you to follow the on-screen instructions, and you’ll need the root access.
  • Launch  WiFi Key Recovery
  • Grant the “Superuser” Access
  • Now find the password for any Wi-Fi network (password)
All the entire process in this app is extremely simple. Once your device has the root access, it can instantly open the list of networks for you. In case you’ve connected to many different Wi-Fi networks on your device, the list will be quite long. You can also use the search bar to find the name of the Wi-Fi network you want to speed things up.
Finally, there’s another way to let the guest’s devices be connected if you don’t have the access to the Wi-Fi password. Simply find your wireless router and then press the WPS Push button on it. After that, you activate WPS Push in Settings > Wi-Fion any Android device. This will connect them to your Wi-Fi without requiring the password.
