How to Search iMessage History
Step 1: First off, you need to open the Messages app.
Step 2: Take a look at the Search bar at the top.
Step 3: Now, you have to tap the Search barand then, continue to type either the person or phrase that you’re looking for.
- For example: When you type “Coffee”, you can see all the old messages relating to it.
Step 4: When you tap on the specific message you were looking for, you will be taken into the message at the place of that conversation. To make the iMessage you located easy to find, it will appear slightly darker grey at first.
How to Search Facebook Messenger Conversations
Now, you can’t search for specific messages in the iOS Facebook or Facebook Messenger app. You can only search through old threads by logging in to Facebook on your iPhone’s Safari browser or on your computer. Of course, the message will not be available to search once you have deleted it.

Step 1: First off, you need to log in to Facebook.comon your devices.
Step 2:Next, you continue to click Messengeron the side page of the main page.
Step 3: Now, you can be taken to the desktop version of Messenger, here, you can see all your recent conversations and replies. There is a Search bar at the top of the list of your previous messages (on the left side of the screen).
Step 4: It will automatically search for People you’re looking for. However, you can see a box that says Search Messages for "[search term]" and then you click on that.
Step 5: Here, the messages for the keywords you’ve typed will be looked through by FB search. And, you can see all the results to the right, highlighted in an orange/yellow color by tapping on a message.
Step 6: You can see how many results there are within that message at the top. Besides, you can navigate through the results easily by using two arrows.
