September 2017 Uppercase Box Review

You know, replacing cedar siding on my house is actually more difficult than I thought it would be... more expensive too. Fortunately we finally have all the new panels on and now that it's beginning to cool off a bit, we can finish up the last bit of painting we have left. It's still going to be a whole lot of tedious work and super time consuming but the end is in sight! What else is in sight right now? The September Uppercase Box Review!

If you don't know, Uppercase Box is a monthly Book subscription service. Each month, subscribers will receive a newly released, signed YA novel along with a couple bookish goodies. They have to plans available: The Expert plan is $23.00 per month (plus s+h) and the Book Exclusive plan is normally $17.00 per month but is currently on sale for $13.99 (plus s+h). This review is for the Book Exclusive box.

Included is a lovely personal letter from Lisa (the owner of Uppercase) that lists the items included and tells you why she chose this month's book. Also included is the other fantastic thing about this subscription. The bookmark with the codes to the interactive reading experience!

Occasionally with the Book Exclusive plan, you will receive an extra goodie or two that relates to the book selection. This time we got a sticker and a button pin.

Warcross by Marie Lu --- Yay! I love Marie Lu and this has been a highly anticipated release for me! Here's the synopsis from Goodreads:

"For the millions who log in every day, Warcross isn’t just a game—it’s a way of life. The obsession started ten years ago and its fan base now spans the globe, some eager to escape from reality and others hoping to make a profit. Struggling to make ends meet, teenage hacker Emika Chen works as a bounty hunter, tracking down players who bet on the game illegally. But the bounty hunting world is a competitive one, and survival has not been easy. Needing to make some quick cash, Emika takes a risk and hacks into the opening game of the international Warcross Championships—only to accidentally glitch herself into the action and become an overnight sensation.

Convinced she’s going to be arrested, Emika is shocked when instead she gets a call from the game’s creator, the elusive young billionaire Hideo Tanaka, with an irresistible offer. He needs a spy on the inside of this year’s tournament in order to uncover a security problem . . . and he wants Emika for the job. With no time to lose, Emika’s whisked off to Tokyo and thrust into a world of fame and fortune that she’s only dreamed of. But soon her investigation uncovers a sinister plot, with major consequences for the entire Warcross empire."

And my absolute favorite part of Uppercase Box? The fact that every book they send out is a first edition release that's signed by the author!

Another month of Uppercase and another month of me loving it! I love this box for the interactive experience, the signed book, and (most of all) for Lisa's ability to select books that I absolutely fall in love with month after month!
