January 2017 OwlCrate Review & Coupon

I'm so excited!!! Want to know why? I'm getting new bookshelves! Yay! Yes, I am as excited as a tiny child on Christmas morning over a bookcase. Seriously though, you have no idea how long I have had this little project spinning around in my head. I have a massive Book collection that currently occupies shelves scattered through each room in my house. I hate that, I like to look at all my books perfectly placed together in one space. Now after my weekend trip to Ikea, I will finally get my.wish! And now that the January OwlCrate is here, I'll have one more book to proudly display on those shelves.

OwlCrate, if you don't already know, is a YA book lovers heaven. The cost is $29.99 (plus $6.99 s&h) per month and each box will feature a newly released YA novel and bookish goodies. Need a bit of extra incentive to subscribe? Use coupon code WELCOME10 at signup for 10% off your first box!

A quick little look-see at the boxes contents. I always love the build-up to this magical moment!

I was so pilumped for this months Classic Remix box theme! I'm a sucker for any sort of retelling. The enclosed card gives you all the details on the items chosen for the January box.

First Edition Tea Co Loose Leaf Tea --- This blend was inspired by the book The Little Prince and it was crafted exclusively by First Edition Tea Co. It's a lovely, soothing mint tea blend that won't be in my pantry much longer. It's just too yummy!

Bookmark --- This gorgeous, watercolor bookmark was created by Lexy Olivia. It was made exclusively for OwlCrate and features a beautiful quote from the novel Slaughterhouse Five.

Book Soap --- One of the most wonderful bars of soap in the history of soap! Crafted by TeaSoapBooks, this book-alike (see what I did there? Hehe)  features an amazing, glorious scent that was inspired by The Secret Garden and it's an OwlCrate exclusive scent.

Wanderlust Calendar --- I've gotten quite a few calendars over the last month or so but this one created by Obvious State is by far my favorite! It's a perfect desktop calendar for me.

The back cover shows you all of the artwork used for each month. Isn't it just beautiful? All the art was inspired by different classics in children's literature.

Magnet --- This little beauty was hand designed by Sweet Sequcls. I have a weakness for anything related to The Phantom of the Opera. IAfter buying the book in the 7th grade, i 'vevread it more times than I can count at this point.

RoseBlood by A.G. Howard --- As I said, Phantom is a favorite for me so I flipped out about this book. I'm also already a huge fan of A.G. Howard thanks to the Splintered series so I am pumped to read this! Here's the synopsis from Amazon:

"Rune, whose voice has been compared to that of an angel, has a mysterious affliction linked to her talent that leaves her sick and drained at the end of every performance. Convinced creative direction will cure her, her mother ships her off to a French boarding school for the arts, rumored to have a haunted past.

Shortly after arriving at RoseBlood conservatory, Rune starts to believe something otherworldly is indeed afoot. The mystery boy she’s seen frequenting the graveyard beside the opera house doesn’t have any classes at the school, and vanishes almost as quickly as he appears. When Rune begins to develop a secret friendship with the elusive Thorn, who dresses in clothing straight out of the 19th century, she realizes that in his presence she feels cured. Thorn may be falling for Rune, but the phantom haunting RoseBlood wants her for a very specific and dangerous purpose. As their love continues to grow, Thorn is faced with an impossible choice: lead Rune to her destruction, or save her and face the wrath of the phantom, the only father he’s ever known. "

This month, we received a signed bookplate to go along with the book. Ya'll know that bookplates always me happy!

As always, the book comes with a special note from the author just for OwlCrate subscribers.

Aaaaaand.... we have the theme for February! This box will be all about running away with the circus! And I am so freaking excited about it since I'm 99.9% sure what the book will be!

Oh OwlCrate, how are you so freaking perfect? How is it that you slay me month after month after month? Are you magic? Is that it? Because, I swear, you somehow know just what I love and then it ends up in s box on my porch. It's amazing!
