October 2017 Owlcrate Review & Coupon

So, were any of you Dolls brave enough to fight the masses and get your Black Friday shopping on? My husband did but I chose to sit out the crowds this year. I have seen people fight over waffle irons, toys, and had an earring yanked out in previous years and I just didn't have it in me this time! So before I go rushing off to cash in on the deals online (thank God for the internet), let's take a look at the October Owlcrate box!

OwlCrate, if you don't already know, is a YA book lovers heaven. The cost is $29.99 (plus $6.99 s&h) per month and each box will feature a newly released YA novel and bookish goodies. Need a bit of extra incentive to subscribe? Use coupon code WELCOME10 at signup for 10% off your first box!

The October theme is Find Me In The Forest and the included information card tells you a bit about each item you received in your box.

Crafted Van Magnetic Bookmarks --- Magnetic bookmarks are so simple but wonderful. These are especially adorable and I love that they are inspired by one of my favorite childhood reads - Where The Wild Things Are.

Coaster --- This gorgeous coaster was exclusively designed by artist Kristin Askland. The artwork reminds me of older needlepoint designs and the quote fits in perfectly with the theme.

Candle --- In terms of bookish items, book inspired candles are definitely at the top of my favorites list. This exclusive candle from In The Wick Of Time is inspired by The Raven Cycle series. It's a wonderfully clean scent called Cabeswater.

Mug ---Obviously this is my favorite item in the box. Actually, it may very well be my favorite item ever from Owlcrate. It is absolutely stunning. The artwork was done exclusively for Owlcrate by Cara Kozik and features elements from the Forbidden Forest in the Harry Potter series. A picture can't do it enough justice... I just love it!

Tea --- You've got a mug, you obviously need tea to go with it! This blend from Riddle's Tea Shoppe is inspired by Robin Hood's Sherwood Forest. It's an exclusive loose leaf tea blend that tastes of blueberry pie. Yummy!

Art Print --- This art print was designed by Andra Auclair and it was inspired by Princess Mononoke. I've never heard of that but the artwork is beautiful!

As usual, there is a letter from the author of this month's book to Owlcrate subscribers. This month we also received a  flower seed packet to make some Wild Beauty in our own gardens!

Wild Beauty by Anna-Marie McLemore --- Another highly anticipated book for me! Here's the synopsis from Goodreads:

"Love grows such strange things.

For nearly a century, the Nomeolvides women have tended the grounds of La Pradera, the lush estate gardens that enchant guests from around the world. They’ve also hidden a tragic legacy: if they fall in love too deeply, their lovers vanish. But then, after generations of vanishings, a strange boy appears in the gardens.

The boy is a mystery to Estrella, the Nomeolvides girl who finds him, and to her family, but he’s even more a mystery to himself; he knows nothing more about who he is or where he came from than his first name. As Estrella tries to help Fel piece together his unknown past, La Pradera leads them to secrets as dangerous as they are magical in this stunning exploration of love, loss, and family.
"

Also included is a signed bookplate from the author.

I get asked a lot about what boxesi prefer and recommend and Owlcrate is always one of my top answers to that question. It's a book lovers best friend and a perfect gift (hint hint) for the bookworm in your life! It's always fun and always fabulous!
