IRON YOUR CLOTHES

This may be taken for granted and I’m not talking about one minute ironing; straightening out the crumpled parts and that’s it. I’m talking clean lines, neat, crisps looking clothes. There’s a certain "je ne sais quoi" about nicely pressed clothes that leave you looking chic.


THRIFT FOR UNIQUES PIECES
I can’t emphasize on this point as much. You can find very quality classic items when you go thrifting. Unfortunately, a lot of young people look down on it. The low side of this is that, once you become aware of the great things you can find, you may get addicted and spend a lot of money without realizing it. Once in a while, invest in a stand out piece for your wardrobe.

FIT YOUR CLOTHES PROPERLY
We are not all the same. One shirt could look good on one person and funny on the other. So, try on and check the fit of clothes before purchasing. Otherwise, have them altered by your tailor to fit your silhouette.

LEAVE A MYSTERY
Young people tend to show a little too much but let’s do this short exercise, think about an expensive decent lady say Michelle Obama, how often does she flash her goodies? Yes, not that often. Wear clothes with high necklines, turtle necks, round necks,they leave a certain amount of mystery and that is how to look expensive!

KEEP YOUR LOOK VERY SIMPLE
Another key point is keeping your outfit very simple. A lot of people are switching to very minimal wardrobes for a good reason. You can look clean and expensive without looking like you’re trying too hard. Pastels, nudes, blacks and whites should definitely make it to your wardrobe.

WEAR RED LIPSTICK
I was going to just give 5 tips but this is equally important. In order to look expensive, keep your makeup very fresh, nicely blended and simple. But there’s a contradiction to this rule which is wearing red lipstick. Red lipstick elevates your look instantly. Imagine a lady in a nicely pressed black blazer and red lipstick. Yes!
