At first glance, everything in Myeong-dong is shiny, blinding and loud. With the tight competition between brands and stores, the main recipe to steal the crowd's attention is to make everything as sparkling and bright as possible. It's as if there's no chance for anything muted and desaturated in Seoul's busiest shopping area.
But I was mistaken. Two blocks away and after turning right from Exit 6 of Myeong-dong station after alighting from the Seoul Metro, is a 6-storey shopping and dining building called Stylenanda Pink Pool Cafe. I was intrigued by how different it looks compared to the buildings next to it. Also, I was also really tired and thirsty.
I googled (thanks to Globe's ever reliable roaming service) and found out that it is actually on the list in Phonebooky's 12 Most Instagram-worthy Cafes in Seoul. Checked Instagram and I was amazed with how beautiful all the photos look. The rest is... well, a shoot session in between milk shake, hot coffee and pizza.
Stylenanda Pink Pool Cafe is located at 37-8, Myeongdong 8-gil, Jung-gu, in Seoul. As mentioned earlier, it is a 5-minute walk from Exit 6 of the Myeong-dong Station. After exit from the station, turn left and walk towards the busy shopping street. After two blocks, you have to turn right and you can already see the pink building. That's your Instagram destination right there!
