Aloha! Hello from the first post of 2016 here on Bbyb :)
If you are here expecting the typical 'New Year, New Me' post or something along the lines of a recap of 2015/ resolutions, sorry you won't find it. For me a look back on a year is all well and good but using it a measuring tool for the next or setting myself unrealistic or dull expectations (and by dull I mean easy, self serving goals) is just well, pointless. Mini rant over and onto the real point of this post.
The first thing I did when I finished work for Christmas/ New Year was Throw out all my old mascaras and had a serious skin care overhaul. I did also throw out all my old socks with holes in and a trusty pair of trainers long past their use but maybe that's an overshare....
Anyway back to the Skincare portion of this post - BbyB has long been a home to my skincare loves, loathes and tests of which there have now been far too many to count. Because of this I decided I needed a basic, stupidly simple part of my skincare routine as the one thing I will do when I really can't be bothered to do anything more and it turns out a moisturiser was that thing. In my clear-out the only things I found I really used up all together were moisturisers and Micelle solutions (aka Bioderma) so it made sense to head out and restock. I found myself perusing the aisles of my local Boots reading as many packets as I could find, smelling, testing and really ruling out pretty much all I found and then I came to the end of an aisle and found this thing shoved in the corner....
The Boots Simply Sensitive Lightweight Moisturiser (Fragrance Free) £3.49. It is simple as the name suggests as it really is a lightweight moisturiser with no nostril drowning smell. There's also no added colour which is a huge plus for me and it's pretty much an aloe vera mix so there's no minimum/maximum amount to use for a good result. Overall a very basic moisturiser that does the job it sets out to do. By no means am I saying that it's the best out there but for the price and the good result I will keep buying it. At the end of a hard day when I really just want to curl into bed with no fuss, a simple moisturiser will do the trick in soothing my skin. What more can you ask for for £3.49?
I will try and post more regularly when I can so expect to read more soon - Happy new year and all that jazz!
