Hello! I would like to say a massive sorry that I have been completely rubbish with updating my blog recently. In early May, I lost my wonderful Nanna and it hit me pretty hard.

My Nanna wasn't just a grandparent to me and excuse the lame cliché, but she was my best friend. When I was growing up, my Mum, a single parent, grafted bloody hard to get us to where we are now and because of that, she was often working. Because of my Mum's hectic schedule, my Nan, who lived six doors down the road from us, looked after me an awful lot. Safe to say, we didn't have the typical Granny-Granddaughter relationship- she was more like a Mum, but without all of the fun sucking discipline parts.

Loosing someone that you are really close to manages to put everything in perspective and I have decided that sweating my arse off with AS Levels (for the second time) just wasn't worth how unhappy it makes me, so as of September I will be studying a Btec in Journalism and Print-based media. I know that doing a BTEC is quite a different path to choose than A Levels in English, Media and Sociology, but I am sure that it will make me happy and if there is one thing that I have learnt from all of this grieving, is that you should always try and make yourself happy, because one day you might not be able to.

This change in path has also made me realise how important blogging is to me. Early last year, I started doing a number of fashion posts and I really miss making them. My mish-mash of styles (90's greb, 50's film star and pjama princess) is really fun to wear and I Hope that showing you that even when you don't follow the crowd, you can still end up looking super duper cool and I hope to maybe even inspire some outfits for some of you.

You may have noticed over the past few weeks, little changes have been made to my blog, for example my  newly purchased .com domain and the wording in my 'About me' page. In the next few months I am hoping to give In Meg's Mind a little bit of a makeover, starting with some more up to date pictures and hopefully ending up with a new logo, banner and button. I have enlisted some amazing people to help me out, the familiar face, Nikki, behind NB Photography and a Nottingham based graphic designer turned chef, Andrew Weston. I'd love any feedback you have on either the layout, or content of my blog, so please get in touch!

Thank you for baring with me over the past few months and I can't wait to show you some exciting things over the summer months
