Head over to Pure Flix and you can stream this powerful and moving show about family, faith and salvation as one journey ends and another begins. It has themes of courage, forgiveness, and faith! “Going Home” is a show you won’t want to miss! It features Charisma Carpenter from “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Angel”.

This brand-new series premiered exclusively on Pure Flix June 2. The first 2 episodes were released pretty quickly, and I started watching right away.  I was asked to review episode #4, which featured David S. Hogan & Concetta Tomei. There were different points to focus on for this episode, which included patience, reflection, concern, trust and struggle.  This episode focused on a lady that was very wealthy, and her son was very cold.  I’m sure there had been things in their past that made him this way, and he talked about a few of them.  At the end, the lady realized that making a mark on the world was more beneficial that having extra marks on your bank account statement.  I loved seeing her views change, and her heart open.

The end of the episode was about Charley’s friend moving into the home and getting care at the end of her life.  I loved how her family came into her new room and had redecorated it to look just like home.  What a blessing that would be.  Being former roommates, Charley is able to really be close to this character, and I’m hopeful in what the next episode will be, showing that friendship and care are so important.

I love how the characters define all of their patients as a VIP and how all of their clients are equal in the eyes of the staff and need to be treated with care and respect.  I wish more professions would adhere to that.  The series show us how to accept praise with grace, when most of us usually write it off.  It also focuses on charitable giving – motivations for business or for true kindness.  Some of us don’t have the means to give financially, but are able to help with things such as cooking, and praying.  Giving doesn’t always mean money.

The show also helps some that have a fear of death and being alone.  I’ve known about a few local events for people that had no family when they passed, and there was an outpouring of support from people that didn’t even know them, but wanted to pay respects.  We all need to learn about the tools that help us to get through life: humility, kindness, forgiveness and money, influence and power.  Which of these are most important to you? and which one would you like to become better at?  Let’s all focus on living now with purpose, and in the future having a peaceful passing with no regrets after it happens.

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. – Psalms 46:1-3 (NIV)
A good person leaves an inheritance for their children’s children, but a sinner’s wealth is stored up for the righteous. – Proverbs 13:22 (NIV)
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. – Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV)
