Your Snapchat photos may finally be coming in at high-quality

Snapchat is notorious for being one of the most popular apps in the world, despite providing Android Users with a subpar image quality. Users for months have been complaining about the fact that Snapchat just doesn't give us high quality photos, while iOS users get all the fun.

A few users on Reddit have claimed that the latest beta version of Snapchat now asks for Camera Permissions leading to better image quality. However, there are more users that are stating they have yet to notice a difference.

The problem is that with smartphone cameras that are of such high-resolution that users expect to see the same quality represented when taking a regular picture. That simply is not the case and as one user stated, the image quality taken with Snapchat measured in at 456KB while an Instagram photo measured at 1.8MB.

We'd like to see Snapchat get it together and improve the overall experience for Android users and stop leaving us behind. In the meantime, if you want to opt-in to the Snapchat Beta app and try this for yourself, navigate to the landing page here and wait for the download to appear.
