Massive Damage in Battlefield 1 Using Dynamite Trick

When it was first announced earlier last year, Battlefield 1 surprised many fans by taking the franchise back to the past with World War I rather than continue the trend of being set in the modern era. Not only was the timeline different, but the familiar gadgets and weapons of the modern era were replaced by period specific gear including the C4 replacement, dynamite. Not satisfied with being restrained by history, YouTuber DANNYonPC has come up with a solution, which may make former C4 fans happy.

While the Battlefield 1 C4 equivalent of dynamite just can’t be used in the same way, Anti-Tank mines were discovered to be a suitable replacement. Taking advantage of the dynamic destruction, a motorbike is used to smash through an object that can be destroyed, in this case a pile of wooden crates. The trick is to add the explosives, in this case AT mines, then take a small Vehicle like a motorbike and smash through the item so that the explosives fall straight down and essentially stick to the vehicle.

At that point, players are able to simply speed towards the enemy, bail out of the vehicle last minute, and watch the explosion and kill counter light up. While DANNY is able to demonstrate the effectiveness of this method, it’s more than likely behavior that isn’t something DICE intended during the development process, so it’s entirely possible that a patch down the road may fix this oversight.

While this mechanic may not be immediately on the fix radar for DICE, the developer recently published their long term plans with Battlefield 1. Not only did fans get another look at some concept art for the second major expansion known as In The Name of the Tsar, but plans for the upcoming Spring Update were also detailed. Players can expect to see a clan system put in place sometime soon known as Platoons in addition to more quality of life improvements and bug fixes as well.

What do you make of this tactic: cheap or innovative? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Battlefield 1 is available now on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
